Maybe after last season's fix they don't want to play that card.
Disclaimer - I'm not positive it was a fix, but it really seemed strange that EVERYONE I knew who tried to vote for Clay couldn't get through, kept getting busy signals, supposedly indicating the his lines were already full, but every one then tried one or two calls to Ruben, and had no problem getting through; anyone I knew who was voting for Ruben got through almost every time.

qs185, I have brought this up before. It's really a touchy, and sad subject, but true in my opinion. Last years contest was no doubt a fix by Fox. Remember,Fox got their stories mixed up about what the total votes were?.There's absolutely no way Ruben received more votes. If Ruben had more fans voting, I would love to ask Fox to try to explain that not long after the final show was over,Clay's song were outselling and just completely blowing Ruben's out of the water, not even close. The fact is, and as I said, sad and a touchy subject, Fox felt that it would be in their best interest to let an African American win last year for rating reasons. I guarantee you Fox felt that if a Caucasian won 2 years in a row, with others beating out Tamayra in the 1st season who many considered the best, and if Clay would of beaten out Ruben last year, it would cause Fox to lose many African American viewers of the show.......
