Its not really who played the better Joker but which style of Joker you like better. They both played their roles perfectly in my opinion, the difference is that Nicholson played a demented clown with class whereas Ledgers character was a straight up pyschopath in face paint.

It was easy to forget it was Heath because unlike Jack you havent seen the guy in a million movies spanning the last forty years. He definately had the advantage because his biggest picture to date, Broke Back Mountain was not seen by 90% of the straight male population. There is a reason why Jack Nicholson is still relevent today and Heath Ledger is famous for making a queer cowboy movie and being dead. Sorry but this happens everytime somebody dies, why do you think Nirvana Unplugged sold so many albums, sure it was a great album but is quality really what the public is thinking about when they are purchasing music or movie tickets? Answer: Fuck No.

The only reason Nirvina is as popular as they are is because of Cobaine's death. No doubt in my mind.
