looks like a lot of roll offs around the greens, like Kiawah a yr ago. Think players with suspect 'around the greens game' maybe in harm's way

the defending Champion is MIA. The Phil Mickelson fall has been unbelievable. Off to LIV Tour i guess, seriously?

who does everyone like?

Xander must have found something over the weekend. 88% GIR's for Sat and Sun, whoa

Spieth is feeling it. He has made swing changes , its takin time but he is hitting it so solid tee to green. he has gotten longer too. If he can get the putter sorted?

got a hunch Rory plays well

havent dug in yet

crazy stat here;

I like a 1st time major winner this week.

Smith
Zalatoris
Schauflee
Cantlay

like Xander and Cantlay as well. GL

if ' around -the-green's will b an important metric this week , here are notable names inside the top 25 for scrambling ytd;

Lowry
JT
Berger
Spieth
Cantlay
Hoge
Xander
Matsuyama
Niemann

notable names way down the list;

Homa
Wolff

outside the top 100;

Scottie, Rahm, Finau

par 70, 7500 ?

wtf. this is a beast. This aint going to be no drive/wedge competition :) . Only 2 par 5's and they are both not reachable for most of the field if played to full distance

#13 par 5, 632 yds
#15 par 5 656 yds

WOW..who is on in 2 @15?........big hitters have little advantage on the par 5's

apparently off the tee its fair, not crazy tight like a US open layout. Both Lowry, Rory said that practice rounds. Both agreed that iron play and around the greens will play large. Again, there's no rough around the greens , and most greens are elevated, run offs. Fuck, would have been a good course for Phil!!

How can Spieth do poorly? . Great around the greens (very creative), has added distance off the tee , stripping the irons and in form

notable top 15 iron GIR ytd;

Rahm
Scottie
Pereira
Morikawa
Matsuyama
Zalatoris
Conners
Burns
C Smith
(Xander is 16th)

given the length of this course 150-175 yds approach will play more often than other weeks. notable top 15 GIR's from this range;

Matsuyama
C Smith
Finau
Pereira
Knox
Cantlay
Berger

extending to 175-200 range and 3 players overlap from the above list: Finau, C Smith, Knox

Knox, Pereira pose interesting long shot/top 25. Knox is 150th in scrambling tho, Pereira is 15th! Mito has 2 top 25s in his last 4 starts

dont like Hovland. He's a great iron player, but pass with that short game. And form is in question .

from the biggies, liking-
Xander
Cantlay
Spieth
Matsuyama
JT

and Rory, for the hell of it...lol

aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd they r off. Looks like those that go early will have an advantage, wind starting to pick up

notable pairings;

Xander Schauffele, Hideki Matsuyama, Tony Finau

Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth

Shane Lowry, Brooks Koepka, Adam Scott

Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay

Collin Morikawa, Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler

Caesars Sportsbook on Tuesday reported taking a $20,000 bet on Woods to win the tournament at 60-1 odds. The bet was made in cash, over the counter at Caesars Sportsbook at the Cosmopolitan hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip. If Woods wins, the bet would pay a net $1.2 million, one of the largest payouts on a golf wager ever.

"Just amazing how much of a draw Tiger is," Craig Mucklow, director of trading for Caesars Sportsbook, told ESPN. "We always have a liability on him regardless of his price. He is the prime-time draw of all time for the bettors and likewise for the [betting] industry. We want him in the field, just not the liability."

Woods grimacing late in the round, cant get to the lead side. Bet agasint for tomorrow imo, and if he makes the cut i'd expect a similar weekend as he had at Augusta

i think Spieth got lost in the moment, paired with these 2. Dude was hitting the center of face all last weekend, today- toe shots? wtf

again, that nutty stat posted earlier re., majors at Southern Hills;

' in all seven of the major championships the club has hosted as well as its two Tour Championships and last year’s Senior PGA Championship, the 36-hole leader has gone on to hoist the winner’s trophy.'

two BIG names on the 1st page, both former winners of The Pga

Weather looks like windy(18-20 mph) in the morning and then gradually calming down to around 10pm by late afternoon. Tough break for the guys who played this afternoon today.

wow . Gotta love Sunday heat. Par 4 18th1 shot lead , a par and you are winna. Trouble on the right cant lose it right. No hesitation, he pulled out driver. He's been losing it right all day , lol. Water. Unreal. All 4 players before him hit 3-wood. Does his caddie talk at all?

Mito froze, synapses went into spasm--look at the follow through of that swing!! something you'd see at your local driving range. Off the charts nuts. There was no commitment on that swing. Hard to watch

Give me JT , he is SUCH a gamer . Fearless dude . Can move the ball either way , and under heat has no problem with any shot selection . The guy hit a knock down 6 iron to the Island green 17th at Sawgrass in the crazy wind , 130 yds lol .
