Actually I live in the very bottom corner of the state-we got no Michigan tv stations, all South Bend and 70 minutes from Chicago.

How do you compare the 1968 Houston Cougars to the 83 Phi Slamma Jammas? Just curious, you sound like a big Houston basketball fan. I remember following the Big E. in 68 when The Cougars broke UCLA's 47 game winning streak in the Astrodome in front of 52 thousand fans. Great game although I only watched on TV (from South East Asia on Armed Forces Network).

Grew up in Buffalo, but we never had pro ball there .. just the AAA Bisons & the perenial talk of becoming the next Devil Rays .. lmao. We'd get the Jay games on CBC & the Yanks on WUTV29 (i think that was them??) ... well, anyways my Gramps was a big Yanks fan .. he used to tell me all the stories about taking the train to go see Babe, Gehrig Mick, and the rest of them - it was family tradition I guess

I was 6 years old in '68 ... so hard for me to compare. I do know this, though: The Astrodome sucked for hoops. Was there for '89 All Star game ... court looked like a postage stamp.

Thats cool, I like tradition. I watched the Bills last night against the Titans, even for an exibition game they looked a little lame. I hope they improve their pass protection or Drew Bledsoe might get killed this year. He is not very swift afoot, but has the guts to stand in there and take a beating. Time will tell, as of right now Buffalo is a bet against team for wilheim.

Take Care, wil.

I thought you might have been to young to remember, hell it was 35 years ago. The one thing that stood out about the game was the ridiculas size of the Astrodome, definitely no place for hoops. Meanwhile that was a very good Houston team.

You're right Wil.

But WAS is the key word here ... UH hasn't put a decent team on the court in a long time.

Hell, it's hard to be a Houston fan for any sport right now. Love the 'Stros ... just expect them to spit the bit at playoff time. Rockets are getting close again, but still in the midst of a 10 year dry spell. Texans ... years away. UH ... nothing lately.

Oh well, more important things in life anyway than holding one's breath waiting for another Houston championshiop.

I think they're a playoff team. The problem with the preseason for the bills is they have been doing 1-a-days in camp (to stay healthy) & they are moving towards a smash mouth/ball control Offense - it's tough to wear anyone down in 1 quarter.

I know Buff wants to run the ball, and they may just do that, but at some point they will have to protect their QB to win anything. As much as this sounds like a cliche anymore, I do not like Kevin Gilbride as Off. coordinator. Maybe I am all wrong, but the NFL is so competitive even the slightest weekness is terminal. Go Bills.
