In football, gotta narrow it down to 5: Harmon, Woodson, and Howard all won Heisman Trophies. Fielding Yost and Schembechler were the two greatest coaches. Yost coached the team in the early years when Michigan outscored opponents 2,821 to 42 from 1901-05.

Remember him well. His high school team (Detroit Southwestern) came and played at my high school in a tournament game. Drew quite a crowd.

Not the greatest but certainly very noteable. For some reason he always comes first to my mind is Rumeal Robinson. For sinking those two free throws. One of the best Championship games ever.
