you need the right kind of ball to get the hook.. also doesnt hurt to use a fingertip grip.

i have rubber grips inside my finger holes and only insert my 2 fingers up to the first knuckle.

pretty much how any decent bowler does it

The "spiny thing" is all equipment Jake. WNO said it best fingertips. If you want to become good get your own ball fit to your hand. If you go to the pro shop in your bowling alley they can help you pick out a ball. If you want to continue to suck. . .

Good advice but I'm happy where I'm at. Bowling is more of a drunken activity for me than anything. My only complaint is that I have big hands and always get stuck with a ball that weighs more than I do.

I guess I'm not the best bowler on here... The last season
bowled in a league I had a 197 average. That was 20 years ago.
