not sure about 1980 and onwards, but if it was "all time" inclusive, then I'd go w/ MJ, Sinatra, Elvis, & Lennon or McCartney (not both, but i think Paul would get it for having longevity). I can't think of any other 4 that deserve it than these 4.

You have to put OZZY OSBOURNE on some sort of Mountain as well. I mean he is the KING of Rock music. Started out with Black Sabbath and then had a great career as a solo artist. I know that I saw him in concert 4 times
