This the original citation. It has been widely reported and has not been refuted to my knowledge.

Obama's 143 Days of Senate Experience

Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not much.
From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan.
143 days -- I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that.
In contrast, John McCain's 26 years in Congress, 22 years of military service including 1,966 days in captivity as a POW in Hanoi now seem more impressive than ever. At 71, John McCain may just be hitting his stride.

Another one of the lobbyist working on the McCain campaign.

So for Obama only those days count when the Senate was in session and working while for McCain the whole elapsed time is counted?
Of course, no-one denies that McCain has much more experience as a senator, but these sort of mathematics make it clear that this is just a partisan hit-piece and nothing more.

I see your point. McCain has around 2000 days actually logged in to work in the Senate.

For me it's not so much that they should have experience, but that they have a track record that can be evaluated. Similar to what Hillary said - McCain has years of experience and has demonstrated his ability to work with the other side of the aisle to get things done. Obama has speeches. I do understand the appeal of someone who is seen as not yet corrupted by Washington. The whole outsider angle. To each his own.

Obama is a pretty smart dude and Palin is dumber than a sack of hammers and we all know what its like having a moron running things.

An excellent comparison which I neglected to include in my own original response to the Topic question

this is funny comparing the Presidential nominee of one party to the VP of the other and trying to say the Pres nominee has more experience than the VP, like that is a good thing

Bingo!

you win.

No ... you lose ...

You were the one who was dumb enough to open a thread to compare the Pres of one party to the VP candidate of the other.

What's the next dumb thread? DO we debate between Palin and Hillary ... knowing that one of them isn't even a candidate?

PS: Tell Palin to bring me bacon and eggs.
