You appear to spend a great deal of time trying to impress us on your intelligence. Words like thus and aforementioned are great and quoting Ralph Waldo Emerson is fine. You would get more respect if you chose different words and quoted Emerson Lake and Palmer.

I "talk down" to others because the folks never are able to respond to my posts DIRECTLY, and more importanly have resorted to name calling and insulting me because
of their frustration in responding to me.
In short I respond in the best and most appropriate I now of-namely showing I am more intelligent, far more educated than the folks to whom you are referring
