Did it once, it was great. Free fall, no tandem That's the good part.
Odd part. The guy before me on the plane started walking out the door onto the bar BEFORE the pilot cut the engine. His chute started to unravel in the wind. The instructor on board pretty much pushed him to get him out. He was afraid the chute may have caught the tail of the plane which could have been catastrophic.

A buddy of mine was in the next plane. On the way down he froze, and failed to do any steering of the chute. Landed in a forest lmao. Could have been hurt, but got lucky.

I did. This goes along with my idea of creating a roller coaster that is set to kill exactly 1 person per year. That would be a great thrill ride. Now it literally is life and death. That is how skydiving should be. Make it like the lottery where 1 in every billion persons chute wont open.

I would like to someday. Did the Stratosphere sky jump (jump off the top of the stratosphere in Vegas and it stops you like 20 ft before you hit the ground) a couple years ago. That was cool but over so quick.

I did once, there were 8 other divers who dove out right behind me and none of their chutes opened. I managed to catch them all and softly land us all to safety. Twisted my ankle which was annoying.

Swiss man's error blamed for his Eloy skydiving death12 News and AP4 hours agoFacebookTwitterLinkedIn

ELOY, Ariz. - Authorities say a Swiss man has died while skydiving in Eloy, about 60 miles south of Phoenix.

It's the third skydiving death in Eloy since Dec. 31.

Eloy police say officers responded to reports of a skydiver down about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Skydive Arizona facility.

They say the man was a veteran skydiver with more than 600 jumps logged.

His name is being withheld until his relatives and the consulate in Switzerland can be notified.

Skydive Arizona released the following statement that attributes blame to an error caused by the parachute pilot:

"At approximately 11:00 am, an experienced skydiver visiting Skydive Arizona from out of the country for recreational skydiving was killed when his parachute hit the ground at a high rate of speed.

"The freefall, deployment, and subsequent parachute flight appeared uneventful until a pilot error caused a high speed turn to the ground.

"Weather conditions were good and there were no aircraft or other skydivers involved.

"The name of the skydiver is currently being withheld pending notification of the family."

Again, the pilot error mentioned in the release is not a reference to the airplane pilot, but to the parachute pilot, the company confirmed.

On New Year's Eve, a 37-year-old Utah man died while attempting to carry out a skydiving jump at the Eloy facility.

A 34-year-old man from Boulder, Colorado died Jan. 21 after witnesses say his parachute collapsed during his jump.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

What's the total cost to do something like this? I have no 'jumping' gear, no nothing about it, so for a 1st time jumper what would I end up paying?

Did a tandem jump in summer of 2014. I can't get on my roof without my knees quivering. Was a great time. Your brain doesn't process how high you are. It's just a matter of willing yourself to jump out. You really just lean out. It cost $300 where I did. I plan on doing it again because the first one is just an adrenalin rush. The second one you are able to take more things in. My buddy has his tandem license and is an expert videographer. The guy I tandemed with had more than 14,000 jumps. I wasn't scared...well everyone is a bit scared, but that is what makes it fun.

Back in the day, my first jump cost around $100. You trained for the entire day then jump attached to a static line.

Today the jump goes anywhere from $200 to $300 depending upon the city and the jumping club. The jump is a lot safer now. An instructor is physically attached to the student. (Personally I think this is a really lame way to jump. Even for a beginner).

Jump if you get the opportunity. You will be a member of a very elite club.

Is it gonna be on TV? Wanna see that.

its on fox at 8pm

Just checked and fox is going to have it here at 8pm too on the west coast. I hate it when they do this just to get the prime time ratings on the west coast. They did with the UFC fights too. Who wants to watch something like this if it's not live?
