Red Sox over Cubs

I don't care what the regular season #'s say, when the post-season starts give me a healthy Josh Beckett vs anybody.

Angels are built for regular season with great depth and hustle. But who is gonna win a big game for them in the playoffs (Saunders, Lackey, Santana, Weaver, Garland)? And Shields and Arredonado not ready for prime time

Arredonado is one of there best,I dont like Shields and Krod is wild. I agree with Angels part but think Redsox more likely to come in 4th than 1st

Based on the way the Angels have played on the road I would have to pick them. In the NL, I pick the Cubs but LAA wins WS.

Ummmmm. There are 8 playoff spots. You just named 5 teams for the World Series. Pick a team!

Definitely think the Angels are built for the regular-season. Very good pitching, but they don't have a playoff stud (Pedro, Clemens, Beckett, Schilling). I guess Lackey counts.

That being said, I think they've got the best shot. Their offense was mediocre at the All-Star break. But lately they've been scoring runs.

I did pick a team. I said those five were the only teams I'd even consider. I said LAD vs TB in the World Series and I'll say the Dodgers win. The Cubs could easily replace them there though. That will be a great series, hopefully in the NLCS.

I know the Twins are a sexy pick, but they have too many holes. Like people have mentioned about the Angels, they have no real star 1-2-3 starters for the playoffs. They live off of depth at the position because they have someone that can give you a great outing every single day, but they also send out someone who could easily get rocked. I love their young guys in Blackburn, Perkins, Liriano, Baker and Slowey, but none would be starting for the Rays, Red Sox, Cubs or Dodgers in the playoffs. They don't have that Kazmir/Shields/Garza, Beckett/Dice-K/Lester, Zambrano/Dempster/Harden, or even a Billingsley/Kuroda/Lowe trio that can dominate for you in the playoffs. I will say the Dodgers are built more on pitching depth also, but their depth is also better top to bottom. Kershaw is a stud and so is Penny if he gets back to his old form before October rolls around.

I don't think you'll find a better 1-2-3 than the Rays and Cubs have which is why there is a good chance they will meet in the World Series.

Rays better hope they get up big if they make the playoffs, troy is taking a plunge and that bullpen can't be trusted in big games

The West winner seems likely to have the worst division winning record and the Cubs the best. If the wild card comes from central (brewer or cardinals) then the Cubs would play the west winner in the opening round.

Can't believe no ones mentioned the White Sox. Their pitching is more than adequate and their hitting is clutch. This team wil be a factor in the end. Their solid all around.
