i dont count conference tournies because the top teams dont need to win them since they are already assured a tourney spot.

i personally dislike the conference tournies. i believe it should be like the ivy league, where an auto bid goes out to the team with the best record.

I think the tourneys add a lot of excitement, but they have to put some teams at a disadvantage going into the tournament that matters. Look at Uconn - they have to be spent after playing 5 games in 5 days. Top teams that lose in an early round of their conference tournament may be better off in the long run, because they get to rest while other teams are going all out just to get to "the big dance".

I got SDSU on one of the top lines.
and the RPI says so.

It'll never happen ! RPI is BS ! Take a close look at who BYU and San Diego State has played and beat this year. Other than playing themselves, they have played no teams that are ranked in the top 25. I just looked and there are no teams that are presently ranked in the top 25 that San Diego State has played except BYU and of course a healthy BYU won both of their two meetings. Take Notre Dame for instance......I count them at 14 presently top 25 ranked teams they have played this year. Now will someone try to explain to me how San Diego State ranks ahead of Notre Dame in the RPI ? RPI means squat ! Total joke and the experts know it.

I selected BYU prior to their loss to SDSU last night. Of course they have no chance at a #1 seed now that they got blown out at Thomas and Mack last night.

Second-seeded San Diego State (32-2), whose only two losses were against the Cougars (30-4 after last night's loss), finally figured out how to topple top-seeded BYU, which was playing its fifth game without Center Brandon Davies, the Cougars’ best post player, who was suspended last week for violating the school’s honor code.

Without Davies, the Cougars were outscored 38-14 in the paint, and they shot just 32 percent. Not making excuses but with Davies BYU beat SDSU twice by 13 points each time..Most likely The Aztecs will be seeded a #2 somewhere but a surprise #1 is not out of the question.

BYU will end up a 4 seed somewhere most likely..

Call it any way you want but at SDSU would not have been suspended from the men's basketball team for having premarital sex with his girlfriend. BYU apparently felt he deserved to be suspended for the offense. Most likely the only big time school that has such a rule.

It doesn't help at all Wil. How can San Diego State's strength of schedule be the 3 rd. highest in the nation when the only team presently ranked in the top 25 that they have even played is BYU and they lost both regular season games to BYU. I'm not even counting last night's victory over BYU as a real top 25 win because this BYU team is now a shaddow of it's old self after losing their key player. Like I posted earlier, take Notre Dame just as an example. Their RPI is 7 th but they have played 14 teams that are presently still rated in the top 25 ! Until someone can explain how that makes any sense I will continue to consider RPI as total hogwash. I could come up with the initials of my name and call it the KJS index and count the amount of freckles on the players ASS and have just as good or better ranking than this ridiculous RPI ranking ! That's why the committee pays very little attention to the RPI. San Diego State will not be a 1 seed and BYU will very likely drop to a 4 seed.

It's a tossup between Pitt and Notre Dame. I think Pitt's 3-3 record coming home should cost them a # 1 seed but it will be very close. Notre dame is presently playing far better than Pitt and has already best Pitt at Pitt !

I have some big $$ on Notre Dame at 100/1 odds so you can see who I want to get a favorable seed. Sometimes getting seeded in the 2 spot may be better than a 1 seed anyway. It all depends upon matchups and We'll soon see ! GL and I hope to see you in Las Vegas !

you have notre dame to win it all?

I have $ on lots of teams but Notre Dame at 100/1 is my biggest winner ! My only real risk is Ohio State which will be a overall loss if they should win it. Of course I will be looking for chances to cover on them with live in game wagering. It should be fun.

What's all this sarcastic " All Mighty Kermit " post all about ? Your Texas team got screwed in getting a 4 seed but my kidding you on your picking them as a number 1 pick was pretty much a " DUH " ! Nobody would ever pick them as a number 1 unless they were out of contact with the real world for the last 4 weeks or so. Just fooling with you my friend !:):)

I gave my opinion kermit... I really did not GIVE A ROYAL RATS ASS if they made # 1 or not .... you are taking stuff WAY to serious lately and when people do not agree with you at times you just can not believe it , its like just within the past few months you ALWAYS have to be right or something... Just saying what I notice having MET you before and how you post now, your posts DO NOT come across as a joke or that your fooling around at all
