CITRUS COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – A woman ate sushi, cinnamon rolls and the majority of a rotisserie chicken, drinking wine while driving a motorized shopping cart at a Walmart, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. She was arrested for shoplifting and other charges.
It happened at the Lecanto Walmart Tuesday. Citrus deputies responded after the store loss prevention employee contacted them about an alleged shoplifter he had in custody. The employee told deputies that he had noticed the woman acting suspiciously driving the motorized shopping card.
He could see a half-empty bottle of wine in her cart. He also said he watched her grab a box of sushi from the shelf, eat a piece and put the box back. She did the same with cinnamon rolls and mini muffins. He saw her eat the majority of a rotisserie chicken while on the shopping floor.
The woman, Josseleen Elida Lopez, 20, consumed $32.36 worth of food and wine while at the store, including cinnamon rolls, mini muffins, two bottles of S. Home wine and a rotisserie chicken with sauce.
When the deputies arrested her, they found two empty syringes, one in her purse and one in her backpack. She told detectives she had used the syringes to shoot up meth earlier.
When they asked her why she took the food she said she was hungry and didn’t want to bring it outside of the store. She told them she knew that what she was doing was wrong.
She was arrested on shoplifting and drug paraphernalia charges.

A baby has died after being left in a hot car at a Wal-Mart in Helotes, according to the Helotes Police Department.
The baby belonged to an employee and had been in the car since 6:15 a.m., according to Captain Anthony Burges with HPD. The baby was supposed to be taken to a daycare, but the employee reportedly forgot.

A Tulsa man arrested for using force or fear to steal a TV at Walmart has claimed to officials he did so because he owed money to the street gang the “Irish Mob,” an arrest affidavit says.
John Wayne Usher, 24, was arrested by Cleveland Police Chief Clint Stout on Monday afternoon after he fled and was intercepted on U.S. Highway 412 by Oklahoma State Trooper Mark Sparks.
The affidavit says Usher was stopped at the store exit about noon by a Walmart asset protection officer. The Walmart employee grabbed the cart, but Usher used force to pull the cart away and retain possession of the TV, all while walking around the cart toward the employee in an aggressive manner, police said.
The asset protection officer, who was unarmed, said at that point he “feared for his safety and backed away as Usher stated to him ‘I’m leaving with this TV.”
According to state statutes, using intimidation or fear tactics while committing theft escalates the complaint from a shoplifting misdemeanor to felony robbery by force or fear.
The affidavit says Usher fled in a vehicle, and when Stout arrived, he put out a BOLO report for the vehicle description. Stout then took the report at Walmart and watched surveillance video that backed up the employee’s account, according to the affidavit.
As Stout was writing the report, Sparks stopped Usher near U.S. 412 and Westport Road, the affidavit says. Stout drove to meet them and identified Usher as the person who he saw on the video and placed him under arrest.
Usher was transferred by CPD to the Pawnee County jail on a complaint of robbery by force or fear, and OHP issued Usher an additional citation for driving with a suspended license.
Usher reportedly claimed his female passenger had no knowledge of his intent to steal the $428 TV, and he only did it to satisfy a gambling debt he owed to the Irish Mob gang.
Earlier in the day, he was seen attempting to steal speakers from the Skiatook Walmart, police said.

The arrest report added that Moan was “tired of being her primary caregiver and felt if he punched her and confessed it, he would no longer have to take care of her and she would be the state’s problem.”
Gregory told investigators her boyfriend beats her up about once a month or when he’s drunk.
She was born without arms and legs and has one foot attached to her lower torso. The couple had been dating several years.
