Dwayne "Master" Bates is lookin good, but I think he'll break out next year, still needs a little tweaking.

I am basing my post on the Bill Parcells factor. Both Glenn and Galloway are not Parcells type players. Galloway played lousy on road last year, all 6 TD were scored at home. He also tanked when the Cowboys played out the season in December (2 receptions in 2 games). Glenn is a wild card, anything is possible, but why should Dallas be any different from New Englasd or Green Bay. With Brett throwing to him last year he could only score on 2 of 56 catches. To pick a breakout reciever or any other position for that matter you need to go out on a limb and look for a guy in the right place at the right time, Bryant may be there right now. Time will tell. BTW nice thread.

Knowing Billick and especially Matt Cavanaugh (his picture takes up an entire page in the dictionary next to OVERrated and IDIOTIC), this may be moot when Boller gets the call in week #4.

Travis Taylor i think will have a breakout year regardless. I didn't include him because he is was considered the #1 guy last year already.

'Chad Johnson will be huge this year, just look at what he did once kitna started last year.'

Chad Johnson i'm afraid already broke out just like how Corey Dillon did before him 6 years ago with an OUTSTANDING last 10 games.

'Wayne has the college stats but from what I've seen in the NFL he just hasn't looked that great. He's had his chances and not really done much with them. He is in his third year when WR's tend to take off, but I don't see him cracking the top 30 this year.'

Wayne has battled injuries his first 2 years with occasional dropped balls and the lack of opportunity.

'Donte Stallworth should have a great year'

I agree with this but I thought he kinda 'broke out' last year in the first half with all those touchdowns...he got hurt the 2nd half of the year basically. If he doesn't have a great 2nd half this year ..he'll definitely have an all-pro year his 3rd year..barring injury.

'Lelie may do a Jerry Porter imitation but nothing more'

He may just do this but he has the best hands out of anyone they have. Jerry Porter in my eyes broke out last year, if Lelie does what Porter did last year then I would consider that a break out year.

Bill Parcells personally brought in Terry Glenn. That is his man. Was in New England and still is in Dallas.

Rail, I have to disagree about Brees and Pennington, although I dont expect much from the Jets.......The main "fraud" that will be revealed this year is Jake Plummer. By midseason, the Broncos will be second~guessing letting Griese get away.

If he can stay healthy, and that is a huge IF based on his lack of size, Santana Moss will have a monster year. He is a threat to score every time he touches the ball, and has a QB that can get him the ball in position to allow him to run after the catch.

Snoop will be lucky to make the Chiefs as a #5 or 6 WR, and he'll get little playing time. But, if he's cut, he'll be a good #3 for someone. Dante Hall won't get enough touches to have a breakout year. He's #4 there. Boerigter is their potential breakout guy, and Morton will bounce back, but too much talent there for any one guy to dominate.
Santana Moss will not be any more than a Dante Hall/ Az Hakim type, great returner but not much at WR.
From your list, Lelie will do well, but I expect Curtis Conway to equal or exceed Coles' production with the Jets. Donte Stallwaorth with NO also will be big time.

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

funny how recievers and runningbacks has reversed in importance, as the offence now in the nfl is all about pasing.

7 years ago 1000 yd season was a great achievment. now its the norm. nobody thinks about clevland as a great passing offensive team. however they had 3 recievers catch over 1000 yds. and nobody knows them.

back to the question

koren robinson
donte stallworth
l. coles of wash
charles rodgers
chris chambers
josh reed
jerry porter
