DO NOT STAY DOWNTOWN... Those old places are shiite holes

Mandalay is great. You cannot go wrong at any of those 3 that you asked about.
Danny Gans is a great show. $100, i think, but a great show...

Are you going to gamble or powder your ass?...Downtown is a slice of americana...you might say theres more democrats.

If your looking for something in between...try the Orleans...great sportsbook, great lines.5$ baccarat.
But dowtown is fine...fremont experience is great espesially if your a people watcher.Myself I don't need all the horns, bells and whistles.

some good comments gents

i'm taking my wife, and it's her first time there, that is why i chose those 3 properties

looks like it's Mandalay or Bellagio

bellagio is stuffy, and mandalay's location sucks

keep the comments coming -- thanks

Huck...if you say the Bellagio is stuffy I'm in agreement, its a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there...buffet is outstanding though my favorite.
Never did more than a walk through at mandalay.
I really think you should give the Orleans a good look its more middle class with no riff raff...Like I said great sports book, its is part of the Stations Casino chain and a good amount of 5$ tables...last time I was there Miss W.Virgina was walking around the casino in a bathing suit. Its classy and clean without being stuffy. You can walk around in shorts and tee shirt without feeling out of place.
Judge...I play a craps sytem when i stay downtown..I try hitting each casino along fremont street including the Nugget for a couple of units...takes all afternoon.
Also, Huck downtown has 2$ tables for craps,BJ.
If you go downtown make sure you check out the "Plaza" I think their lines come out the samtime as the stardust.
The Orleans is outside the strip but not downtown

LOL ....

Mandalay is within walking distance or a free tram ride from Luxor, NYNY, MGM Grand, Excalibar and Tropicana.

I'll be moving accross the street from Santa Fe Station later this Month. That's an "Out of the way" place :)

same here judge, it's been about 5 yrs

i feel like a dinosaur -- mirage was always nice, but my wife sees these newer properties on tv shows etc, and really wants to stay at one of the "new" ones -- and if you are married, you know how it is -- i'll keep her happy so i can enjoy my activities

Patriot, I'm going there for the Wright-Mosley fight. What's on Fremont ST in the early evening?

Venetian is very nice. I think it's the best couples place I've stayed at.

Bellagio is a bit stuffy, plus they use "shuffling machines" for all BJ tables < $300. Tough to get anything going when every hand is essentially completely reshuffled.

Palms is the "hip" place to stay, but I don't think it's as nice as Bellagio or Venetian.

I've never stayed at MB, so I can't comment.

advantage of MB location -- close to the airport which means you save time and money with the cab.

Speaking of "powdered asses", any recommendations on bars and strip clubs?
