Low vig and I'd come back.
I don't trust heavy bonus shops.

That's a term I actually learned from parlaythis @ Bet2Gamble. He calls "asymetric straddles" the lines in which the juice has been manipulated.

For example: @ -107 the line should look:
Philly +3 -107
Miami -3 -107

Since the market of reduced juice implies a lot of arbitraging, you will hardly find that type of symetric juice. You will find:

Pinny:
Philly -3 -115
Miami +3 +110

Holly:
Philly +3 -112
Miami -3 -102

PanAm:
Philly +3 -114
Miami -3 +100 (EV)

Lay 107:
Philly +2.5 +109
Miami -2.5 -123

Notice how the juice is not the same on both sides. Just a few examples of what Judge Wapner has called ARBITRAGING...

Pinny has by far the most experience on this field and that's why I think to enter the -105 is quite risky at this point. This mrket attracts a lot of shrewd players with a great sense of juice manipulation and how to make the best out of it through middling/scalping, hedging, etc...

I hope I was able to explain myself.

Low vig(especially -105) is WAY WAY more dangerous for a book than any 20-30% bonus.

However, I will say that the shops that offer low vig will retain many many more customers than your typical book that offers up 20-30% for bonus whores chasing the bonuses.

That's not entirely accurate. Reduced juice will attract sharper players for sure. But bonuses wil attract a lot of bonus whores, limit circumventers, fake referrals and all kinds of shit.

Both things are definite perks for the player and both most be managed properly, otherwise the educated gambler will walk through the shop as if he were walking in the park in a sunny day.

A bookmaker must know his players and start getting rid of all the scum. (No pun intended)...

That I can agree with.

WOL, thanks! I know all about that number manipluation, just didn't know that term -- make sense. And yes, Pinny is the master at this. Only book that routinely moves pennies at a time like that. PanAm a little I guess. But even still I think a book can hold with -105 both ways on non-key numbers. Just shade down or up a half point based on which side Pinny is shading (of course for obvious reasons I'd prefer if they didn't actually clone Pinny

Gotta tell you, I love razzing (and being razzed, I guess) by people with brains. This should be the beginning of some good ole fun.

How about low juice for hockey? Not much competition there - only pinny and panam (to a lesser extent) are doing it as far as I can tell.

And here's another type of perk that you hardly ever see ... a loyalty bonus that increases with length of time or amount wagered. Start small (say $5 back for every $1000 wagered) and increase up to a max amount (say $50 back for every $1000 wagered). The benefit here is that this encourages customers to stay instead of collecting bonuses and running.

Great info guys. Nobody like the 5% bonus on winnings, and 10% back on losses. paid quarterly.

Maybe giving the player the choice at the beginning like suggested.

one or the other.

MD kid - i like that. I want to find a way to make players only want ONE account with BHB. Not refer themselves and so on.

Some sort of simple plan, but makes sense for them to stay with one account for a long period of time. Maybe some sort of interest bearing account or something.

all i can say, is if you want my business, you must deal the 10 cent MLB line up to -1.80.

baseball is in the news everyday and its months away, guys are going to be excited about this mlb season, dont be left out..

hit it hard, right after march madness, guys are beginning to be turned off by the bonuses, look in another direction..

nets2k2. After every month you can request to have your limits doubled. So, this month 2k, next month 4k, and so on. This is done at your request, and our wagering floor manager decides to accept/increase your limit....or keep it the same.
Hope that helps.

Or just offer 10k on sides and totals instead of making players wait a few months to get it.

105 is the choice for me. I have no interest in the bonuses.

Good topic.

Does BeverlyHillsBookie book? Or gamble?
For those that do not get it does BHB try to have a closed book like Pinnacle? Or do they keep positions open?

When you talk, I listen. When you post, I read... but c'mon now, are you telling me Pinnacle books? Are you serious or is this sarcasm? (I'm not being sarcastic myself)

Pinnacle has a betting office, that's a fact. If Pinny has an opinion, it will be reflected on their numbers. If they don't, then their numbers will sit right on the middle of the screen.

Pinnacle gambles and they book and they gamble when booking too.

"For those that do not get it does BHB try to have a closed book like Pinnacle?" Are you serious?
