Illini, they lost to Penn State at home. Penn State is a nice team and all and had their share of covers, but not a team that a Top 10 team loses to at home. Dee Brown is Illinois, if he is off, the whole team struggles.
Yeah, well Mich St lost to Wright St at home the year they won it all. And Michigan lost to Div 2 Alaska-Anchorage the year they won it all. One game means nothing.

Illinois is not a top 7 team..no way,The Illini would be no better than 5th in the Big East, and that is pushing it.

they had a great great team last year, this team is nothing special, around 20th
Please. They won at Carolina and put the clamps on Georgetown. 5th in the Big East, that's funny. :puppy:

I am not here to fight anyone. But are you serious? Telling me to get a clue and to put down the crack pipe. In my opinion, Illinois is not a Top 10 team. Top 10 teams do not lose to teams like Penn State at home, let alone as a 18 or 19 point favorite. (no I didnt lose money on the game).

Kornholio- The Big East is without a doubt the best conference in the country this year with 3 teams that can make it to the Final Four (CT, Nova and West Virginia). ACC would be second followed by the SEC and then the rest is up for grabs between B10, B12 and maybe a mid-major conference.

Although I have not posted here for very long, I believe that I have been respectful to almost everyone here. Just because my opinion is different than yours, it does not mean that I am doing any drugs or watching a different game than you.
I was just joking, but I disagree with you, obviously. I'm a big fan, but I can evalute teams objectively, including my own. Penn St game was a fluke, and 2 losses in their last 60 home games is pretty special. They were well on their way to blowing Penn St out, and then let up for some reason. Regardless, it means nothing.

TVWatcher...I see your'e from connecticut which makes your opinion big east biased, and me from the midwest so I'm big 10 biased....that's what makes it so fun though being a fan:103631605 . Love college sports....and love that we can argue/debate/talk/whatever about this stuff and then watch it all unfold in the tourney.

J-man....I stand by what I said last yr. Not that JJ wasn't good enough, just don't think IMO that he would have started because the team wouldn't have had the type of chemistry they had. Plus I think that JJ is overrated and overhyped....although he has improved his game since last year.

And... The Big Ten gets no love. Every year is the same. "Big Ten is overrated" then they send two to the final 4.

So they would have arguably the best player in CBB coming off the bench.......CMON!

That would give new meaning to the term "6th man".

I stand by what I say, Illinois would be 5th in the Big East,

UCONN
NOVA
PITT
WVA
then maybe Illinois, Georgetown is getting better by the game.

This is not 2005, back to reality, and this ain't no #1 seed or #2 seed.

20-3. Not much more they could do, other than avoid the fluke let down loss. Better than Pitt, and WV. Nova, I'll give you that, and they obviously aren't as good as UConn.

They beat G'town by 10 at Illinois in early Dec.

I still think MSU is the best Big East team . and Illinois won't be a #2 seed or higher....After all this debating I am no longer an Illinois fan, and I can't stand Michigan State.

the Big East is loaded.

College ball as a whole seems to be way down. Really hard to find 25 teams that deserve to be in the top 25. Big Ten teams are no different than any other conference. Wouldnt surprise me to see more than 1 Big Ten team go deep into the tourney once again.

All I know is that it is really tough to win on the road in the Big Ten.....
especially for middle of the pack teams such as Indiana and Mich. State.

Without question the Big Ten has been the 2nd best conference in hoops for many years, its not even close ACC is the top conference and then the Big 10 then the rest.

BIG DROP OFF AFTER THE TOP TWO.

Everyone says the Big 10 sucks every year they keep on putting final four teams in. Look at least year, MSU gets there as a 5 seed. How bout Wiscy as an 8 seed a few years ago knocking off Arizona in the 2nd round, who did they beat in the Elite 8? Purdue. IU gets there as a 5 seed a few years ago.

The fact is, the big ten style of play is suited for ncaa tourney games.
