Welker is a no brainer at 14. Now the rest is interesting. You are protecting value. You actually get more value with Portis (low 1st rounder) and Turner (projected 17th best. 2nd/3rd round) with an 11th round pick. If you protect those three, not only do you get a 1st rounder, you are picking the cream of the crop, while half the league is sitting there watching you pick because they protected the high rounders. They will all be picking at the end except you because you protected low picks.

As good as Westbrook is, the carries are starting to add up for him.

The thing about keeping Westbrook for is is that this is a PPR league. In addition, I think about half of the guys in the league aren't gonna keep their 1st round pick. Alexander, Maroney, Henry, Rudi and Willie Parker all went in the 1st last year. No way those guys are kept to give up a 1st. So while keeping Portis/Turner/Welker represents value, I'd almost certainly be downgrading my RB1 spot by doing so unless I end up with the #1 pick.

This is the dilemma i'm debating as the season approaches.

If you feel strongly about Westbrook, then replace Westbrook for Turner. Portis and Welker and no-doubters.

Somebody will have to have a breakout season opposite of Moss for Welker to have a good season. Welker is a reach unless this happens and he can continue to go underneath and catch balls. Not sure the Pats have a good number 2 WR. IT IS NOT WELKER.

If you can get 1000 yards/6-10 TD's out of a 14th round pick, you protect him. Teams cannot double him and Moss.

I think lots of people are over shooting his actual worth. That is my opinion I have been wrong before and will be wrong again. I just don't see value with him. If he puts up the numbers you suggest then you will be right I'm just not sold that he will. In my league there is an offer for Welker for a 5th round pick. This is a keeper league with 10 players kept. Obviously I'm not the only one with the opinion that he won't have a big year.

You have to take Welker. 14th round pick for a guy who had over 100 receptions in ppr league. If he ends up with 80 catches that is a steal at that round.
Braylon in the 4th is again a steal. You won't do better and gives you a great compliment to Welker.
The last pick is a toss up, but Westbrook would be my pick. In a ppr league he Is as good as your going to find.
So you used your picks 1,4 and 14th for a top ppr running back, an upcoming stud in braylon and welker which is costing you essentially a round where you get a kicker.
TO you are not getting any value
Jennings is not a catch mongrol
Portis you will be able to find another back equal around that round.
Turner do you want to roll with a player who is somewhat unproven on a team that is terrible.

Give me good players on good teams that score.

But he is much higher than a 14th round pick, right?

I wouldn't personally draft him but yes I would say he should be taken before that based on what a bunch of people think he can or will do. I just don't have him high on my list of players personally. Like I said I play in a keeper league where we keep 10 every year so it isn't a real concern for my team. I have TO, Andre Johnson, and Chambers had TJ Housh 2 years ago but needed a running back because all mine were getting up there in age.

Westbrook is a def keeper and no one is showing portis enough love. Given what you said:
Alexander, Maroney, Henry, Rudi and Willie Parker all went in the 1st last year.
They need backs and no one is going to let go of a back better than portis, let alone no back will be better left in the 2nd round (seeing how TO should be let go) Portis is 1st round pick in any draft and a definite keeper for anything past round 2. Edwards is a keeper, seeing how you have two #1 backs already and he is arguable top 5 receiver with break out potential. Welker is a definite keeper, there is no doubt, he will score more from mere catches than any player you pick up in 14th round.

Westbrook, Edwards, Portis, Welker
