Please explain how a book can get middled in the above scenario? Is the favorite going to win by 3.25 points?

Getting sided isn't the worst thing in the world, moving to 3.5 think of it as an independant event. Going to 4 however isn't too bright.

You know what I was getting at. Sided is what I meant. If the book moves to 3.5 instead of -3-30, and the other side comes in for 25 dimes at +3.5 and the game lands on 3, well the book loses 25 dimes instead of breaking even by moving the money. How many times in your career have you heard people calling it getting middled? Of course sided is the right terminology, but you going to hold that against me. I gave the example, you know what I meant the whole time. But moving the games by money is why I said books do it because it protects them, which is why we see the -3-30's a lot..

Not to mention the book will lose any bets bought down to -2.5 when they were at 3.
