GoSooners, do you think in the VT campus shootings if someone had a gun on them they wouldn't shoot? Or they would miss. I can say better than the average person because I was trained to kill. But it's unlikely with someone coming down the hall looking for targets and anybody I know wouldn't hesitate to bust him when he came through the door.
I think someone would probably try. Especially when their life is at stake. But trying and doing are two different things...Half the gun owners out there don't even know how to shoot a gun. Including the gangbangers who point the gun sideways and wave it around..Those idiots almost very seldom hit the targets their shooting at or else we would see many more murders. The kid who shot all of those people at VT went out in the field on a regular basis and did target practice..He came prepared and he was pretty darn good with a gun. If you've been trained to kill and have shot a pistol on a regular basis, then you know how hard it is to hit a target in an emergency situation..Notice how the gangbangers shoot their pistols at random while waving it nervously around, and then look at how a cop uses both of his hands to hold his gun for support..And they move as little as possible when shooting it..If they have to move it's usually forward or back..Not side to side..I use to do alot of pistol target shooting..You think your pretty good until you have to move around..Then it becomes much much harder to shoot your target..It takes alot of practice.

hmm!!! Very startling and disturbing insight into a deeply disturbed person.

I am not one given to reactionary commentary mostly from articles designed to rouse anger and sell controversy. (and believe me you the people who printed this shit have one thing and one thing alone in their minds. MONEY!!)

Ask yourself this. If you had been the investigating officer who heard these comments first hand would you run to the victims family and tell them the murder says "F@#k you"

Only a cold hearted money hungry bastard would print this shit.

It should be saved for the jury to hear right before the hit the "FRY" button on the electric chair under which said bastard would be sitting under!

I think most people in that situation would find it harder to pull the trigger than they thought..Unless you handle a gun and shoot it all the time it can be difficult..That's part of the reason why it's mandantory for cops to have to go in from time to time to shoot their pistols at a gun range..If for no other reason than to get the feeling of shooting one. Plus 4 out of 5 people can't hit the broad side of a barn with a gun..That's why in most drive by shootings people just get grazed or don't get hit at all..Gangbangers can't shoot straight unless their right on you. Guns are much harder to shoot than most think..Especially if your moving in any way while shooting one.

I know I couldn't pull it. Like you said, one needs the training to handle a gun. Probably why many prefer the semi-automatics, so they spray a round and hopefully hit something.

Do you think if you were in a life or death situation happening fast, you could have the quickness and courage to kill someone who is killing other people or just try and save yourself and run? Assuming you had a gun on you.

I would have no problem at all either protecting myself or someone else. I carry a gun on me 24/7.
