Being a NY Giants fan for over 50 years, I would say the joy of the 2 SB wins over NE far outweighs any pain I have ever suffered in my many years of watching sports. But if I had to pick one, it would be when Marvin “Bad News” Barnes got hurt in NCAA semi-finals against Memphis St. in 1973. If he doesn’t get hurt, I believe Providence wins that game and go on to beat Bill Walton and UCLA in finals that year. Been a PC fan longer than I’ve been a Giants fan.

UMD losing to Michigan St in the tournament. Greivis Vasquez brings the terps back after trailing most the game and hits a runner with 3 seconds left to take the lead. MSU immediately inbounds the ball, pushes up court and hits a 40 footer as time expired. One of my favorite college teams ever.

Also terps blowing a 20 point lead to Duke in the Final 4....but we won the title the next year so I cant complain. Beat Uconn with Caron Butler, Kentucky with Tashaun Prince, Kansas with Gooden and Hinrich on the way to the ship

I was at that Elite Eight game, making friends (or not) in the Twerps fan section. My buddies and I were a big hit :)

But I graciously shook hands and wished them all well after the game. I didn't take that loss hard, we were unranked on like February 15th before going a streak where we didn't lose a game until that Elite Eight game. Won the BET, became a two seed, it was a magical and expensive run. Even went to DC to watch us beat NC St, your Twerps were there too.

We were the only team to compete with you in 2002, we had y'all shitting your pants with freshmen and sophomores :). Two years later, it was our turn.

We held our own in the championship game.

I remember when Indiana even took the lead and then Juan Dixon immediately answers with a 3. He was all you could ever ask for as a college player

Dixon murdered us in that game. I clearly remember that 3. Good times tho. That indiana team was all heart. Beat the overall number 1 seed duke to get there with a huge comeback. Multiple pros on that duke team. Still my favorite IU game of all time.

We held our own in the championship game.

We didn't hold our own or trail most of the game, there were lead changes in every minute and it was a three point game with 30 seconds left

We scared them bigtime, we had them on the ropes

I wish you would have beaten them. Would probably be another banner hanging in Bloomington right now

I like having the most titles since 1999. And no 4 games or less titles either

Mavs beating the Heat was one of my favorite memories and Im not even a Mavs fan. Not sure why I rooted for them so much in that series

Saw both of these in person:

1997 Rose Bowl
Super Bowl 43

Both great games, with awful endings. So close to a National Championship and a Super Bowl Championship. Still stings.

Uh.. today?

Had over 55 first quarter in the Rockets game. These savages play no defense..... have about 34 points just after 6 minutes... and then, miraculously, fucking 17 points to finish the quarter.

What in the living fuck?

And need just 6 points with about 1:20 left to get a push... thought, okay, well, at least will get that.

Rockets got zero points. And I think they had 5 points in the last 6 fucking minutes..... UN-FUCKING-BELVIBALBLE!!!!!

Vent complete. Thanks.

I don't have one. Sure there are plenty of bad beats, but I remind myself that I've had some good beats also. And yeah, I'll get pissed if teams don't perform like they're supposed to but that's brushed off quickly enough. This pain stuff is really more about adults that act like children over a silly game. I remember one friend crying when the Vikings lost to the Falcons, and I just thought to myself "Crying, really? You're a grown man. Jesus Christ! Man up and get over it." You've got people carrying this mental baggage around for years (like it's some real first world problem). I think the whole fandom thing is a bit much to see with adults. Not to mention, these players don't give a shit about you anyway (do you honestly think they do?). They lose a game, drive a fancy car back to their mansion, and go off a play golf or pay some high price hooker for some fun. Not to mention, they'll probably be playing for the opposing team in a few years when their contracts come up for renewal. A player staying on a team for a career is few and far between now (you're looking at only a handful in the grand scheme of things).
