Yeah, makes sense. Same way w/ me re the politics usually. I don't think that is really you or I, that is just how zombified/ideologically rigid your avg person has become thanks to modern technology allowing people to turn the channel to exactly what they want to hear (and most of these news sources don't even cover policy, they just cover how corrupt a few people on the other side are)
But yeah I saw you saying that stuff so was surprised you think NFL is a flip to go off since kickoff wouldn't be for 5 months. Just seems like a hot take for the moment. I still think it is a decent dog, but not quite 7-1 like I stated on 3/25 ITT.
These are strange times. I'll admit I didn't see this shut down as it is coming. I was somewhere in the middle. I did start social distancing fairly early in the game though. The scary part is everything we know or knew, was all anecdotal. Just a few weeks ago the Surgeon General was advising not to wear masks, based on some study that was very anecdotal. My first response was, that can't be true, but then thoughts of the Dunning-Kruger effect came to mind. Now it looks like they are about to order everyone wear a mask soon. Even if we hit the curve by summer, I'm not sure that will be enough to get us back to normal by Football season. If we don't hit the curve by summer, and the deaths continue to double, that's going to be scary. I'm 50/50 on the NFL, not because I feel strongly either way, but because I really have no clue and would take plus money on either side.
I'll admit I am enjoying the shut down a little, it's a little selfish as I'm ok, I've got enough to get by on, but it's fun getting to be closer with my kids. I've turned my living room into a classroom with desks. I wake up at 9am and class begins. I've been teaching them advanced math, science, and reading some classics. I have them keeping a daily journal, writing about anything they want to. At he end of the week they take quizzes and I give them grades.
