ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I don't make War, Loo. I make love.
And we've loved seeing status quo drug-war policies change in over half the states in the USA and dozens of municipalities during the past decade alone.
During that time, not one single state or community has amped up the penalties for either marijuana possession or distribution.
The War On (some) Drugs in 2007 is pretty much a federal game.
Without the huge federal funding and grants passed down to the states and counties, most would have scaled back the laws and related enforcement quite some time ago.
The vast majority of street level cops and courtroom level judges and attorneys recognize that the WOD is a futile circle jerk that does far more harm to the community than help.
So one brain at a time remains the maxim. A fair deal since there's no one of note publicly defending Prohibition whose not on the Prohibition payroll.
And even those voices are few. Not many elected officials really get much mileage out of defending a system which directly empowers a multi-billion dollar per year street market for risky drugs.
