Different times my friend. When I was a kid it was about 2 miles
from my house to the local ball field. Every day in the summer
I would hitch hike to play ball. Half the time the local police
would be coming by and give me a ride.
Of course back then the police knew everyone and everyone knew
the police. They got respect and in turn gave respect. Today it
seems there is no respect for anything. Todays "entitled" feel
that they are just that, entitled to do whatever they please.
I have no sympathy for those who get their ass handed to them for
not following police orders.
this is also true, in so many ways
a friend of mine was pulled over for drunk driving when we were teenagers, police told him to "drive home carefully"
we were pulled over in a little town when I was driving, we had pot and the officers saw a joint in the ashtray. They confiscated our pot, then let us go.
we went to buy more and then just avoided that little town during our cruising
