Separate data from TeamMarking.com shows the average 2016 cost to attend a NFL game for a family of four was $502.84. The amount includes four tickets, two small draft beers, four small soft drinks, four hot dogs, parking and two cheap hats. That compares with $363.58 for a National Hockey League game, $339.02 for a National Basketball Association game and $219.53 for an Major League Baseball game.

I shop for the best ticket prices. My son is 23 so beers are $22 per round
and then I lose 300 on the bet I make so it is sorta expensive

I usually get decent marlins seat on the 3rd base side (usually equivalent to the pitchers mound) and pay $100-120 for 4 tix. Parking is $20 (i think) at the garage on weekends. Food is a little pricy and we'll get hot dogs and a refillable soda but probably costs like $40?

I try not to drink at sporting events as I am usually with my family (i drink all the time around them) and dont want to spend $8 on a bud light

Marlins have to be the best value in sports right now. They will probably pay you to go to the games just to put bodies in seats.

$9 for food ??

what do you get for $9 bucks ?

Can use it any where in the ballpark. Good deal. Private area with ping pong, corn hole, tv’s, couch and chairs. Out in right field you can pick your seat.

Its actually a pretty cool stadium and we have a fun time the 1 or 2 times a year that we go. I'm a braves fan so i like to get tix when the braves come in town on a saturday nite. The stadium (10k-20k who attend) is about 50% braves fans, 25% marlins fans, and 25% people who could give to craps

Eat a good meal before the game and then bring in some stuff with you.

Fans are now allowed to bring food and water into Minute Maid Park for Astros games. When bringing food and water to the ballpark, we ask that you follow a few guidelines:

  • Minute Maid Park Water Policy:
  • Fans can bring in one (1) factory sealed, plastic water bottle per person
  • Maximum one (1) liter in size

  • Minute Maid Park Food Policy:
  • Fans can bring food in a clear plastic bag
  • Maximum size is a one-gallon bag (standard Ziploc bag)

Fans will not be allowed to bring metal cans or glass bottles into Minute Maid Park.

That's a pretty decent policy, but probably not the norm in the majority of stadiums, I totally agree about just eating before the game instead of at the game, you should be able to go 3 hours without eating, same for a movie, can't you Manage 2 hours without food if you had a meal right before going to the cinema ?

$40 to park, not from me, I ain't paying that. There has to be some sort of mass transit option for far less.why even drive in big cities like NY, LA, Chicago, etc. If parking is $40.

For baseball the best value is a triple A game if you live in a smallish city that has a team, I've been to probably 50+ AAA games in places like Colorado springs, and Las Vegas when I lived there, exactly 3 major league games in SD, NY, and Boston, triple A is so much easier to get to and pretty close to the real show, a hell of a lot more affordable too, almost free when compared to MLB ! Unfortunately CT doesn't even have any AAA ball, no pro sports team at all, I believe there was only one pro team , EVER... Hartford Whalers. No real city in the state, kind of in a void area between NYC and Boston
As my brother says Connecticut is a good place...

Agree with you on the theater as well Doug. We always eat before the movie starts. Might get some popcorn or something, but we bring in water. I'm not paying 5 dollars for a bottle of water.

Rays baseball home game

200 level seating (same level as suites and press) inside 1B or 3B

$35 ticket ($140)
$20 parking within 2 city blocks of stayjum
$25 each for hot dog, ice cream and no-limit soda pop ($100)

So pretty much $260

If you are into watching baseball from the vantage points of OF or way down the foul lines tickets drop to $15-20

Lucky for me, no kids and the SheBar only interested in attending vs either BOS or NYY

I buy all of my tickets through https://www.govx.com/

They give great discounts for military, police, fire/ems, and government.
