Hansen, the internet is a marvelous thing and I have too much time on my hands. I simply did a very quick yahoo search using the info you posted. Hope I didn't blow your cover, dude.

I have written money management threads for the RX detailing my entire 2002 Football Season to show how to properly manage at an advanced level. When I rate a play as 1* that equals 1% of my bankroll. 3* would be 3% and 5* would be 5% and they are rare. I have released only one so far and it was on USC over Michigan in the Rose Bowl. I have released 15 3* plays and they are 10-5 which are strong plays for me. And I announce them in advance to tell the forum to expect them. The 1* plays are regular level that I am comfortable with but don't warrant a higher percentage. Please continue to ask. I will stand by for awhile.

The Generals comment was a little off I believe although he may know better. In today's thread on age, it appeared to me that the average age of the posters were more like 30-40 years old, with a few oldtimers like me. Would you like to try the chatroom where we can communicate a little faster?

Since it appears that you may not be getting back to this thread for awhile, let me leave you with this understanding. Do not be swayed by the number of units that a handicapper specifies. Use it only as a tool that the person feels more strongly about one play over the other. There are players on these forums that use units as if they have no meaning. A 10* play at $10 per unit is only a $100 play. A 10* play at $100 per unit is only a dime, i.e $1000. Some handicappers 1* play may be a dime as it's base. Please keep that in mind when reading the handicappers releases. This is why I asked the question "What do your units mean?" A 5* play may be $5000. How many on this forum do you think have a bankroll that can support that level. There are a few, but not many. If you ever want to talk to me, please come into anyone of my threads and just tell me that you would like to talk and if you are comfortable, we can try the chat room. I've used it only once on this forum and it worked out pretty well. I will close for the night unless you have responded while I'm typing this reply to you.

Sick Gambler started a thread that received maybe over 5 pages of replies last year asking ages. We went thru and did and average and it was mid 20's i do believe. It was in the offshore. I looked for it briefly yesterday, but could not find it.

Roxy- although i agree w/ you about all of the out of control egos in the basketball forum, there is definitely value contained in there, you just have to weed out the bad and look for the gems. it is a forum that you can quickly and easily find the posters who are doing well. They keep a an up to date record and dont pat themselves on the back. i have been following and just recently joined, and can tell you that if you narrow your follows to one or two cappers, limit your amount of plays, and play the same amount on each game, you will do fine. Obviously, CO-CAPTAIN has been red-hot and is straight foward, and then look to a SELECT few other guys that are doing well (TEXAS KID - LEWIS - NY REB - ) and see if they happen to be in agreement on the same teams, and play them! dont go looking elsewhwhere for trouble, and good luck!

Moneytrain is right on identifying solid posters. I would also add ATX and Bawg to that list (Bawg posts at another site but they are following him in the rubber room). There are some posters that are excellent fades (bet against them) as well. For sake of dignity I will not name them, but if you hang out here long enough you will figure out who they are

Folks,

I've been enjoying this thread, and like the suggestions of how to best utilize the 'capping advice. I do have somewhat of an off-subject question: what's arena2?

Thanks General. It was the "2" that threw me, even though I have had its website bookmarked for a couple of years.
