What's everybody think about the theme of the Oscars this year?

The whole thing is ridiculous. Performances are for the most part VERY subjective. A year or two back, 12 Years A Slave ran away with everything and it wasn't a great movie. Hollywood will always be run by old, white dudes. All the pissing and moaning in the world ain't gonna change that.

I'm shocked...

I caught a piece of the Chris Rock monologue at the bar, saw it on social media late last night... thought it was hilarious and extremely well done. really shocked by the outraged today

It's not his opening dialogue that has people outraged. If that's the only part of the oscars you saw I can understand why you're shocked. His opening jokes were fine.

Literally the entire night was focused on the racists oscars. From every single thing said to every skit. For 3+ hours it never stopped.

In addition, his "running jokes" weren't actually jokes in many cases, but they were his attempt to disparage the academy as being racist.

It wasn't funny in the least, it was cringe-worthy, and someone should have the balls to stand up and call him on it.

Probably the worst Oscars show that I've seen. The blackness thing should have gone out of the window after the first 5 minute rant. Mad Max won WAY too many awards for what it was. But it's all a political process voted on by people that don't even watch all of the movies. My opinion of academy voters went way down a long time ago when they voted Ordinary People best picture over Raging Bull. Which was not only the best movie that year, it is considered the best film of the 80's.

Next year will be a blackfest. I guarantee you that. Even the shittiest of black actors will get nominated.

I won't watch anything that Will Smith or Spike Lee are involved with... or anyone else that was part of this boycott

How about when they voted Shakespeare In Love over Saving Private Ryan for best picture?

Yeah, that was an atrocity. And about 10 years before that Driving Miss Daisy won over Born On The Fourth Of July and Glory. I felt like skullfucking Miss Daisy after hearing the winner...

Strange, the Los Angeles Times called the show a "MESS".

Third lowest viewership in show's history.

If one thinks ABC gives a shit about black egos in the future...guess again. $$$$
