The Caddyshack and Slap Shot followups were brutal. But there have been so many more.

"Fear Strikes Out" the 50's black and white Jim Piersall story movie starring Anthony Perkins had without a doubt the worst imaginable action scenes of an actor trying to look like a ballplayer. Piersall said he was appalled that a "fag" played him

and Kevin Costner really put the screws to Perkins [if I can say that] because of those scenes.

If you can imagine Norman Bates charging a ball in the outfield and throwing or swinging a bat then that is exactly how it looked. His throwing motion was about that of an average sixth grade girl's.

How about Kansas City Bomber with Raquel Welch about a roller derby team? It had all the "realism" of professional wrestling without the imagination.

It'd be easier for me to name the ones that DON'T suck - most are formulaic crap, and I've gotten to the point that I simply refuse to watch new ones UNLESS I hear something great about it - like "Seabiscuit", which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh (I think) with Dr. J was one of the all-time worst but at least he paved the way for MJ and Shaq for the number one basketball stars to whore themselves in really bad movies.

Oh and that movie that the makers of South Park made. Something with base ball and basket ball combined. Some funny moments but other than that it was horrible

I am sorry for using the "R" word - and NOTHING EL

One of the best sports movies ever. Talk about realistic, it depicts life in the rural mid-west during that era perfectly. Great movie.
