if u plan on investing in a TFSA then a tax analysis is not necessary . As nada is taxed upon withdrawal

BMO Blue Chip GIC ;

- it matures in 5 yrs. You cant take it out before, if u do they will give u the principal back only (confirm with them). So you have committed your money fro 5 yrs. What have the markets done after 5 yrs from other viral pandemics, if we r to use history as a guide.

-guaranteed rate of return after 5 yrs, ; o.50%
- the underlying is a low volatilty TSX etf (NOT the broader market, and its country specific , Canada. That aint very diversified....)
- fine print; 'the values of the underlying securities in the index in the reference portfolio used to calculate the rate of return for the term will NOT include any distributions or dividends declared on the securities' ...........fucking criminals. A low volatility product is void of growth stocks, largely blue chip dividends products, a chunk of the return IS the dividend. They KEEP it, lol. These fuckin banks, profit from the fear of others.

as the saying goes .........'if it appears too good to be true,......'

that chart was not 5 yrs data, of course.......The SPY did take nearly 5 yrs to recover after 2008, not trying to mislead in anyway whatsoever.

Personally, not a chance i'd put money in that product. If you're severely risk averse just buy a GIC, your return is known. But if you like the underlying the BMO Blue Chip GIC uses then buy it (zlb.to), rather than this product

I like Ricboff's idea. Just buy bank stock. Canadian banks will never go under.
Having said that, my bank stocks are down 25% from 4 months ago.
I like the idea of buying banks, some oil, and airlines...assuming we have hit the bottom.

Norwegian cruise lines up about 34% today :think2:

I like Sysco there balance sheet is huge there stock tanked big time think there is value here they deliver food everywhere

They are going to have major issues with accounts receivable. Many restaurants are going to go tits up and leave debt in their wake. Debt that the company will be carrying.

OP should just buy index funds if he doesn't wanna deal w/ market fluctuation. Yeah it can gyrate pretty hard, but you aren't some risk averse grandma that grew up without heat. You can handle 20-30% swings once every 5 years bro, you bet sports.

But I do like Sysco long-term, dining out isn't over with and they will be 1 of the first companies to benefit from long-haul autonomous freight.

stick with what you know. asian massage parlors

Actually streetwalkers - Singapore, Bangkok, Vancouver - were my thing. I specialized in them & have extensive experience in those places. AMPs i know little of. But the past few years it's been sex dolls. You won't likely catch COVID-19 or any STI from those you purchase new.

I had to look up "index funds", which shows what i know about investing in stocks & such, next to nothing:

Can you lose money in an index fund?

Index Funds and Potential Losses
There are few certainties in the financial world, but there is almost zero chance that any index fund could ever lose all of its value. ... Because index funds are low-risk, investors will not make the large gains that they might from high-risk individual stocks.

As to betting on sports, i do that, but i don't gamble on them except for a bit of dabbling. My sports betting mainly consists of no risk scalps & low to no risk +EV middle shots. I sweat the payout, not the game. So whether it's bank investments or sports investments i'm not much of a risk taker.
