What the best 50 inch Plasma out there?

personally I have a pansonic plasma and philips LCD

the Plasma is so much better at night its not even close

but during the day light on the plasma from outside detioriates the picture alot - so I think thats the main issue

like others said pioneer or panasonic for plasma

and LCD dont go cheap the contrast ratios are BS

if you want a good deal call 6th ave electronics on the phone and ask them for their best price... normally you cant beat them

For less than $1K you can get a Panasonic 50px80u. It is a great set for the money. I have the Panasonic 42px80u which is a 42 inch and am very pleased.

agreed that this set is a great deal. used to have a 50px75u and liked it a lot. there's also a samsung at best buy for around a g.

the real trick is to see the set in person, and at a shop that'll let you mess with the picture and that preferably doesnt have a ton of flourescent lighting everywhere. we can throw around models all day (i love this kinda talk) but finding one that looks good to you is all that matters.

Panasonic 800 series is the best Plasma for the money. Very close to Pioneer Elite and a whole lot cheaper. I have the 58" 800 Series and it is the best I've seen. Below is a link to the 50".

Agree competely. You can buy a Samsung or Sony but your going to spend $750-$1500 more and the difference imo is not worth it. Got my 50 inch Panasonic for $1399 when Tweeter was going out of biz last year.
