What a joke this would have been on sportswriters & a disaster for the Heisman if Manti had been selected over Manziel, this hoax
was probably an attempt by the family to Heisman glory! After Alabama exposed him as a rather small pedestrian linebacker perhaps not even the 3rd best linebacker on the field that day while in his bowl Manziel blew out Oklahoma with his passes and swivel-hipped darting through & around defenders.
All the great defensive players taken high in the 1st round by the NFL & in the top 10 Heisman vote getters Jerry Tubbs, Alex Karras, Leroy Jordan, Dick Butkus, Hugh Green & Suh were far better than Manti & had great NFL careers. Manti is a nice player but an unlikely
