Max,
We need self-sufficient prisions. Imagine the possibilities - we could have Nike pull their Malaysian factories & rebuild them inside the prisions. We could have Prision farms. We could have the mail run through the prisions - most of the post@l workers end up there anyways.

This is the utopia I'm talking about, not some "let's carry the dead weight" democratic crap.

Lander,

Too late.... it's called the Louisiana Penal system and it hasn't killed crime in that state.

Jazz,
Have you noticed that certain sports have more less-ethical players? Take the Boxing, NBA, MLB, or NFL .. how many drug suspensions, sexual assaults or aggravated assualts can one sport have?

Then consider Golf, Tennis, Bowling, NHL ... sure you have a few alcoholics and probably a few unknown adulterers, but there certainly isn't anywhere near the amount of violent felonies involed here.

Why is this? Just coincidence?

Wow, the other countries must be complete shit then. The world calls on the US on a monthly basis to solve some problem. The US has solved more problems than any 3 nations combined, hell it might be all nations combined.

And once again the world/UN comes with hat in hand and begs us to intervene in Liberia.

I don't see Lander or anyone of the leftist protesting the US going into Liberia and murdering the Liberian children.

STAY OUT OF LIBERIA.

I have to say that this is a very entertaining thread for me personally...

Lander though out a bait and Max bit...

I am surprised somewhat because the Max I know is usually too cool, calm, and collected to get involved in this...

I suspect this is due to boredom but who knows?

It's all in fun I hope...

Out,
I'm not leftist, but from a utopian POV if can help more people that we hurt in Liberia then it is a good cause. Iraq was NOT the case IMO, thus my strong anti-war stance.

I realize these things are not straight-forward mathmatical calculations, so we're probably just being misled by Bush (again) into another Guerrilla War.

Well, as for the NHL they commit assualt and battery every night - lol. Ah, no question that when you get into the physical contact supports you're going to have a higher percentage in trouble, but my question to you is, what exactly are the numbers? I know the high profile cases are hyped, but as a percentage of all the players in any sport (forget boxing - lol), how many actually get into this kind of trouble, as opposed to the percentage in the general population?

Coincidence? No - I think the more violent sports attract the type of personality prone to violence.

If it's a lot higher, then you can make a good argument - so I'd be curious to know what those numbers are.

Of course, Shrink. Hell, it actually has turned out to be a semi-normal type of debate. I love to debate and Lander sticks to his points so it's entertaining.

Jazz,

Good point. It's hard to turn the attitude and adrenalin off and on at will. The reason you never hear of tennis players getting into scrapes? They're scared of confrontation. FB players, on the other hand, deal with confrontation every day and have to learn to like it or fail in their sport. Kickers and punters excluded, of course.

Given that we are both living in the South, I wanted your take on Southern Women...

P.S.

I am bored, just messing around and having fun since I can't remember the last time we chatted..

I think I have a solution that works for everyone. Ok guys, hear me out.

We've established that althetes in the NBA, NFL, MLB & Pro Boxing are often violent criminals. And we've also established that drugs are the root of America's problems.

This is what we need to do in order to protect our women from rape, our kids from drugs & the rest of us from drive-by shootings & other assualts.

Pro athletes in the NBA, NFL, MLB & Pro Boxing will be required to spend their pro careers in prision & will only be allow out to play games under strict supervision. Before they can be re-released into the pulbic they will need to be castrated (to stop the Kobe effect) & undergo intensive anger management theropy (Ray Lewis effect). Once they are deemed normal they can be released into the public.

However, here is the catch ... all drug offenders will be placed in the same prisions with the athletes with no chance of parole. The althetes are mostly rapists and murderers anyways, so if they do something bad it is only to be expected & will be forgiven as they have helped clean the society of the evil drugs.

I think everyone wins with this one.

Wow! Southern women are unique in that they are raised to be demur and discreet but in actuallity are quite the opposite. They will be totally calm one minute and looking for the shotgun the next. They will stand by their man through hell or high water but kick his ass out the next for something as insignificant as not bringing home the right type of milk. I was raised by a southern woman, married a couple, dated many, and will always be in love with southern womanhood. But the bottom line is that they're crazy as hell and nuttier than Grandma's Christmas fruitcake. On the other hand, that's what makes them so much fun. Does this sound about right, Shrink?

Thanks for your support Ken.

Sadly we would lose 50% of the posters, but the good news is that the forum would be better as it would now consist of 87.5% of Canadian posters.

Another example of - everybody wins.
