Don't worry folks, the Bush administration is saving the capture of Osama for 2004 right before the election.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they had SH for awhile now but didn't inform the public since GW's popularity was high. Now would be a good time to release the info since his popularity #'s aren't as high & Dean's stock was rising.

I wouldn't put anything past this clown.

I doubt it, but perhaps. Regardless, I'm certain that Al Queda still exists ..

Remember them? They train Bin Laden's terrorists that killed 3000+ Americans.

He was one of the world's most brutal and ruthless murderers for the last 20+ years. Harmless... I think not. The world is safer and the Middle East will be more stable without this man.

What happened to your move to Canada?

I'm holding off unless the dollar gains some value back. I like to buy my citizenship low and sell high ...

In seriousness, I would LOVE to move. I was planning on it but I've had a few deals fall through on my place ..

.. once it sells I will seriously consider going.

Bin Laden is dead and has been since December of 2001.

If you believe those farcical "tapes" supposedly made by Bin Laden in the past year or so then you're as gullible as a teenage girl on prom night.

It is convenient for all involved (Bush and the remaining Taliban) to purport Bin Laden is still alive but I believe he never survived the battles in Tora Bora that took place at the end of 2001. Unfortunately his body is probably buried in an unmarked grave and those who buried him are probably dead as well. So his final disposition will never be 100% known.

"Right Floyd, just like the "fake" one's of Hussein?"

Fake whats of Hussein? Are you referring to tapes?

Saddam's tapes made frequent, direct references to recent events (for example the deaths of his sons) pretty much assuring their authenticity.

Bin Laden's "tapes" make only vague references to his overall hatred of the West and never directly address events near the time they are released. They are generic messages that Bin Laden made dozens of even before 9-11.

Until there is an easily authenticated tape or video of Bin Laden speaking directly about a recent event I will believe he is dead and that the sporadic release of tapes purported to be from Bin Laden are just crude attempts by his remaining followers to rally support.

Aren't you the least bit curious as to why all of recent Al Qaida tapes released (especially those concerning Iraq) were from Ayman Al-Zawahiri and not Bin Laden? The only so-called Bin Laden tape referring to Iraq was so vague that a Swiss security group concluded that it was referring to the first Gulf War.

Believe what you want (and need) to believe, but there is far more evidence that Bin Laden is dead than there is that he is alive.

I agree with you Floyd...scary...I think Bin Laden is dead too. He looked like hell the last time he was shown and was apparently suffering from some serious kidney ailment...not sure there are many treatment centers in the mountains. And why wouldn't he demonstrate beyond a doubt that he was alive, which he could probably do pretty easily?

Its widely known that Bin Laden easily survived repeated asassination attempts in the fall of '01 and early '02 and is now living near the Pakistani border in rugged terrain

If it makes you feel better to pretend that his videos and recordings were somehow created "years earlier" and that he's really dead, then I have some barely used Weapons of Mass Destruction you might be interested in too!

You guys are more gullible than a little girl - you guys are so dumb - each of you is an idiot - everyone with a functioning neuron knows that Bin Laden is living in Hedonism 3 having the time of his life - if you didn't know this you are moronic.

I just love when people talk like this and expect to be taken seriously.

Congrats to the young men & women over in Iraq on the capture of Saddam...

I do beleive it was an ill conceived wr, however, & feel strongly if these billions of $$$ had been pumped into trying to resolve the palastinenan conflict that we would be well on our way to combatting terrorism...

However the capture of Saddam is a big victory nonetheless & it is definately a good thing that Iraq will have new leaders going forward...

SportSavant,

Remember that Sadaam was paying the families of the suicide bombers that struck Israel..so there is a link.

Please provide some proof that supports this statement.

Bin Laden has not been seen by an independent (non-Al Qaida) source since an Al-Jezeera reporter interviewed him in October of 2001.

Sendit,

"And why wouldn't he demonstrate beyond a doubt that he was alive, which he could probably do pretty easily?"

Exactly.

That is the $64,000 question that no one can seem to cogently answer.

The Palestians have stated hundreds of time that they do not target Americans so how does Sadaam supporting them lead to terrorism.
