There used to be a 99 cents store in my area for a few years and I used to shop there every day.
They would have name brand foods and other things that stores were selling for $5 and $6 - -
and the 99 cents store was selling it for - -- - - 99 cents
or maybe a little more. I was very sad when they closed down or moved -- not sure which.

CVS drug store. It's clean, got everything you need, open 24/7, and most importantly can check out by yourself. No dealing with employee on date night when I gotta get that 12 pack of natty ice, axe body spray, 3 pack of magnums, and KY lube.

If you sign up for their emails, Lands End has some damn good deals they send out. I buy stuff from them almost weekly at 40% to 50% off.

Check CVS's prices against anyone. They are really high. They were rated highest in Consumers digest on prices.

Dollar General and Food Lion

Food Lion always seems to have one brand of a product you need on sale.

Fresh & Easy... I know a lot of people who do not like it but it is my kind of store, small, never long lines, not a bunch of unnecessary stuff on the shelves. Prices arent too bad

My #1 choice. Good products and great prices. The clean version of Walmart.

I don't live close to a Walmart. But the ones I've been too are a zoo. Target is always clean, lines are never too long and parking is usually abundant.

I would think you couldn't be more than 5 miles from a Walmart in LA !

I call them under-rated because so many hate them. It would cost me $10 in gas to go anywhere else since everything else is at least 15 miles away except a couple of supermarkets....the price you pay for living in a town of like 6,000 people. Walmart is only a couple of miles away in the next town that has more than one traffic signal.

I don't like the place, but the prices are best on most things.

closest walmart to me is about 15 miles away.. I'm pretty centrally located in the city too... Just the way it is..

I have 2 targets within a mile and half from me, probably 8 targets within 15 miles.. No walmarts.

proximity is certainly a factor. I'd go to target a lot more if it were close and Walmart a lot less if it far, as well

With gas prices at 4.15 a gallon, you better believe it my good pal.

Try driving a 13 year old F-150 that gets like 14-16 MPG ! That's why I also have a 150cc Vespa scooter that gets close to 70 mpg....but you can't carry a ton on it or take it on the Interstate ( unless you are insane and willing to go 55-60 mph on a 250 lb bike, but it is highway legal)

I went to kohls on Sunday and got 7 nice t-shirts for $44. My total savings was about $160.
