I've never been to Idaho, I guess it would qualify, except for the 60 degrees most of the time ?

That sounds more like the SE portion of the USA to me.....Carolinas, possibly inland a bit more, not quite the deep South, not New England, not the desert Southwest.

Winters are cold but generally we only have had snow on the ground for maybe 2-3 weeks a year in the town area. The mountain is only a short drive away and has a ton of snow. There are trees everywhere in this city too and the summers get to 100 or so.

I stayed a night in Idaho. I thought it was pretty. It was kind of funny to me how the state seems almost desolate and then boom, I arrive in Boise and there is lots of businesses and people. It's like all of Idaho civilization had teamed up and made that their spot.

Haha yeah it's definitely the biggest but there are a few other places that have a ton of people and businesses everywhere. It's just that it's mountains and trees all around em. I remember when I was in New York and you didn't really tell when one town ended and the other started other than the signs letting you know. In Idaho, for the most part, if you leave a town it's going to just be wilderness before the next town. I like the outdoors so it works for me.

Boise sounds a lot like Colorado Springs, to me, maybe a tad warmer ?

One Place Many Overlook

is NW AR, just like N. Mn w/moutains. I love to fish, so lakes streams & rivers and lots of trees are my choice. Can't stand hot weather tho. 6 mos. a yr Montana sounds great. Always wanted to fish the Madison and the other great trout waters there, too old now. Oh damn there I go playing the "age card" again, sorry BP.

I like where I live now. Nice, sunny S.Cal. If you like the cold and freezing your ass off, be my guest. I lived in the east coast for many years and I hope I never see snow again. Driving on ice and snow every year will take 10 years off your life. Everybody has to stay up to watch the 11pm weather to see how much snow you are going to get. If they call for a lot of snow, you have to get up 2 hours early to get to work. Gas bills are sky high and power outage everytime it snows or rains. Nobody goes out in the winter and people are just glad to get home safe from work after driving 5 hours in the snow and ice. I am 3 hours from Vegas and I am going this weekend. 75 degrees today I am one happy camper.

But traffic is easily the most unbearable factor about the L.A/OC basin. I just don't have the patience. AND I LIVED THERE 22 YEARS!!. Friday get away to Vegas? Good luck on the 91/15/215. I'll pay the $200 to get there in 50 mins by air.

Living in the Bay Area is nice. It rarely rains, never too hot, but you can actually see the changing season, unlike So.Cal. It's also 20 minutes to the beach, 2.5 hours to ski, lakes everywhere, Indian Casinos all over, etc.
