Because there was really only one questionable call and the better team won. Only you are the one saying Stanford got jobbed, whereas after the ND game even ND fans were saying how fortunate they were, not mention to media and neutral people questioning the calls. We get it already, the PAC12 is awesome, and could never lose fair and square. Stop with your fanboy nonsense already.

More then one questionable call in the game.. next series of downs, Stanford WR gets hit in the back long before the ball gets there.. That ended that drive.. penatly yardage was really one sided thruout the whole game.. Mich St is a very good team, not going to take that away from them..But they got help, they maxed out on what they could do.. Stanford on the other hand, played a bad game, coached a bad game, just like Bama did last night.. Both teams are better then they showed.. Mich St just was in the right place at the right time..

Correction. They can hang with any team except FSU. Their offensive speed would be too much for the Spartan D.

Everybody knew MSU had a good defense. But everything changed when Cook started playing great and the receivers made a complete 180 from last year where they dropped everything. The WR corp brought it this year. MSU definitely maxed out, but they wouldn't have fared well against any of the elite teams the spreads them out. That is the key to beating their D. They can line up and blitz putting their shut down corners on your WR's, but get their linebackers in coverage or space and they have troubles. I also thought their Dline was a little overrated. But the DB's are pretty good (Dennard outstanding). The best thing about their D is they play well together, which is the biggest key. Not taking anything away from them, they saved their best for last and got the right match-up in Stanford and it's tight sets.

Fina AP & USA Todayl Polls just came out
1. FSU
2. Auburn
3. Michigan State
4. South Carolina
5. Missouri
6. Oklahoma
7. Alabama

I think they got there top 4 spot on. I'd put Alabama 5 despite there late season efforts

If we had a 4 team playoff in 2013 it would have been:

#1 Florida St. vs #4 Michigan St.

#2 Auburn vs #3 Alabama

I think FSU would have had their hands full with MSU. Especially since Cook was getting hot down the stretch, and they already had the best defense in the country. And Bama would have had another crack at the title because I don't think Auburn would have beaten them a second time. This 4 team playoff is going to be interesting because there is probably going to be at least one team every year that catches fire at the end of the season and then sneaks into that 4th slot. The number one seed could end up having the toughest road to the title if the final four ends up anything like it did this year.

or the 4th seed could be the #1 or #2 from the week before after a loss

This whole playoff thing makes me wonder about what kinds of crowds they are going to draw to these games. Fans of the final four teams will most likely have to decide between going to a semi-final game or taking a gamble and hoping your team wins and gets into the title game. Very few fans out there will be willing or able to spend the money or have the time to plan two vacations in a week. I also beleve that the rules will drastically change if we should ever get 4 Super Conferences. They'll probably have to go with the winner of each conferences makes it to the Final Four. To take care of the rest of the teams they could end up adopting an NFL type format where they include two at-large or wildcard teams with first round byes for the #1 and #2 seeds. Whatever they end up coming up with, I have a feeling that they'll need to do some tweaking after next season. I bet it doesn't go as smooth as they are hoping for since it is a system that was never taken on a trial run.

Damn good point Sooner......The NFL has home-games for the conference champions and quarterfinal games which alone, guarantees a sell-out....no so at neutral sights for college play-offs on back-to-back week-ends, many times involving long distance travel. Not going to happen.

You are what your record is. If Oregon had 9 losses, you would say they are the best 9 loss team in America. For once, can you be objective and realize, Oregon has had a good run, but are the VT of the West coast. Always looks good, but in big games looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane. ZERO national titles to speak of. Lost to Auburn (Still say they should have ruled Dyer down, though his knee didn't touch, everyone stopped on the play). Lost to OSU. They beat some scrubs in the Fiesta, BFD. You aren't elite until you stop shitting the bed every year.

Oregon = UGA

Both teams never can win the big games but can win 9-11 games per year on a dime.

Nine, ten or eleven game-wins in one season is still very respectable....It's just that the Ducks (and the Bulldogs) were shooting for high-stakes (expectations) last summer on-into September and October (NC) before their roofs caved-in.

Oregon needs to become a consistent top ten recruiting program if they have hopes of winning a NC. They've only been in the top 10 recruiting rankings once in the 2000's. That's not going to cut it. And they dropped way down to #22 last year, and sit at #22 so far this year. You can win conference championships with that kind of recruiting, but you can't win national titles. At least not in the last decade nobody has. Stanford has also taken a big drop in the last couple of years after going on a nice recruiting run a few years ago. Georgia basically has no excuse. They've been a top 10 Rivals recruiting program for many years. They came very close to winning it all in 2012 if they had just gotten by Bama. But they should have sniffed around the big game more often than they have under Richt.

we wouldn't be having this conversation if Oregon had 9 losses.. maybe we can move on from the loss to Ohio St from 5 years ago..alot has happened since then..We have represented the Pac 12 very well.. Besides beating Stanford and USC recently, which are better wins then most other top teams, we beat K St, we beat Wisky in BCS games, drubbed OK St in Holiday Bowl.. we don't have anything to apologize for.. even the BCS championship game, we could have won..nobody is hanging there head out here.. next year we will take out Mich St and be on another championship run..shitting the bed is the way Ohio St finished this year.. what was your excuse for that ?, at least our excuse was we lost with a one legged QB... jealousy will get you no where...

It is tough to be jealous of a program that have never beat us. 7 less national titles and 7 less hesimans.
