Forget about the cheating/walking the line stuff. Al Davis did the same thing with Oakland, and it gets into opponent's heads. But it's not why they are who they are, the best organization in the history of sports, for the last 15 years, along with the Yankees from the 20's to the 60's.
What Brady and Bellichick do is amazing. I am convinced Belichick could win with Brady and 52 guys from the RX. They lose Offensive lineman after offensive Lineman, no matter. They sign bums off the street at WR and RB and they shine. Then they get hurt and sign more bums, and THEY shine. They lose Revis, Wilfork, and the D gets better. All one can do is shake your head at how great B and B are. Other QB's would be sacked 10 times a game behind that sieve OL, Brady Prospers. Other D's would be giving up 40 points a game and 400 yards a game with their lack of talent on D, Bellichick makes them shine.
I am convinced you put mediocrities like Alex Smith at QB and Lovie Smith at HC, or pick any other mediocre QB and HC you want, coaching the same exact team otherwise, they win 2-3 games.
