I am looking who is bitching the most at this and it is the liberals, facebook, etc., and I say to myself everyone is going crazy about deregulation. This is a bunch of bs hype. I don't think anything is going to change.

In peoples defense, the companies in favor of repeal haven't exactly endeared themselves to the public. Time warner, Comcast, Verizon. A who's who of companies that routinely list at the bottom of customer satisfaction.

If they had built up a little more goodwill over the years then the hysteria probably wouldn't be what it is. I know when I first saw Comcast was for it, my reaction was "Damn, I hope I'm against it"

Cox, my ISP is raping me on TV and internet price.. I have no choice for TV as I live in a non FIOS senior's apartment. They call tv and internet a bundle and as of October told me my Bundled package for 2 years had expired... They wanted my to add my phone for savings.. I use a flip phone from Verizon and Cox does NOT offer cell phones.... I think stamps and a newspaper may start to look good in the future, if the price continues to climb.

At this point I think that people may be over reacting to the overturning of net neutrality. We don't know what is going to happen. At the same time, there certainly appears to be the potential for companies like Comcast and Verizon to take advantage. The door is wide open, and who is going to stop them? Not the current FCC, headed by a former Verizon lawyer. Personally, I don't have a problem if these companies want to charge someone a higher fee for downloading masses of files all day long. What I wonder is what is the incentive for Comcast/Verizon to not charge higher fees or slow download speeds for streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video that they are essentially in competition with? Is that fair? I don't know. What's to prevent these companies from blocking access to sites that they for a variety or reasons don't want their customers visiting? Just seems like the possibility is there for filtering or censorship.

I really doubt any of this is going to happen. And if it does it can be revisited later. Not like the public is going to stand for that type of monopolistic abuse for such a widely used service.

Read Comcast came out and say they wouldn't fuck with it even though they are notorious for doing shady shit. Haven't seen a Verizon statement yet though.
