If you want to have kids then get married. If you do not intend on ever having kids then marriage shouldn't even be considered.

What about insurance? What if my GF can't get comprehensive health insurance through work, and it is MUCH cheaper to get on my plan as my spouse?

Don't you also get some kind of tax advantage too, or is that just after you have kids?

Also, you get some pretty sweet stuff for your house and alot of $$$$$ as wedding gifts. That is a fact.

Those will all be hers when it ends - and they end at a greater than 50% rate.

If your interested in having sex 4 times a year then marriage is a good idea - if you want to let yourself get fat and old at an exelerated rate then marriage is a good idea.

In all seriousness, if you a dying to have kids I could understand marriage - I can't tell you how many friends I have that got married because they thought "I can't do anything better" - I wanted to tell them how pathetic they are.

It was all gift wraped for the funk and I just made lame conversation and I gave her a tip and ran upstairs with the pie but I could have had some other pie that would have been a lot better.

It's a real nice thing if you are completely in love, if not, you're making a terrible mistake, and BTW who knows if been completely in love happens at all. If I find a woman who is completely honest,don't play mind games,

Being young without constraints is great. Being old without family is not, in general.

I'm considering taking up higher risk sports like shallow water cliff diving and no-parachute skydiving as it is.

If I had it to do over... I'd only date married women... they go home, not my home.
