I myself am frequently surprised at how a client or colleague has no idea at all about this or that seemingly notable "celebrity" pundit or twitter ID since I do surf twitter daily albeit Following only a dozen people outside of sports/comedy.

Not watching cable news is extremely liberating. When I worked in public policy 1999-2011 it was part of my daily diet

But after the 2012 election I have not deliberately tuned into a cable news outlet except on the nights of election return reporting

Try it for 30 days and I believe you would be shocked (literally) at the relief you feel along with the realization that 98% of the people around you are living great lives doing likewise
