I wonder if Mitch wanted out of Chicago?

1 year for 2.5 mil to be a backup in Buffalo is CRAZY cheap (i wonder if there is an incentive clause on he would get "x" per start)?

Still baffles me that the bears traded up and gave up alot just to go from the 3rd pick to the 2nd pick (no need to mention who they passed on b/c if they liked Mitch best, they liked Mitch best)

Fields looked good vs Miami but ran much too much, especially for a pre season game.

If he does that all year it is inevitable he will get dinged and have shoulder and hip and back problems and be mediocre and fans will say "wow I thought he was pretty good, he is not much of a QB, anymore". He might even get his knee pulverized and then at least everybody will know what the deal is...

Sure he might be good for a year or three, but if he runs like that he will be just another broken down young QB.

This franchise has been a joke for over 15 years. Terrible coaching decisions.
Pace is a moron and yes Nagy your are an idiot and egomaniac.

he needs to get rid of the spin he does , the one that he got destroyed on vs clemson where he turns his back to the defender its weird like he does a half spin and finishes with his back to the defender.. he did it Sunday , other than that he typically runs when his receivers have deep-ish routes and everyones covered then he bolts , also he typically only does that on the opponents side of the field when a conversion leads to getting into good scoring position or extends a drive about to enter scoring position .. EXCEPT if inside the red zone he will sometimes bolt quicker as if its his second read on a drop back

if we get to the point that he can be surgical throwing into zone coverage then its game over ..

he throws such a nice ball and his aptitude is off the charts , if he puts it together and he has the physical and mental tools to do it
he can be a an all-time great

Sounds like a young guy trying to do it all. Maybe he starts off that way, finds some success and a good coach will get him to use his arm more. Make him like a russell wilson story rather than an rg3 story

Multiple scouting reports said he wasn't ready or prepared to start yet, I guess Field's proved their observations so far

OL is a disaster, Peters is a shell of his former self, IMO the OL is the most important* unit in NFL football. The Bears did not improve it over the off season, it is actually worse, they have no chance with a rookie QB that comes from a vanilla college offensive system, Fields might be good but it will take a few years.

When Dalton comes back he is their best chance to win, the D is still good but CBs are weak, and the D will wear down if they are on the field all the time like yesterday. Remember, when HICKS gets hurt, bet the farm that first game against the Bears. Maybe the 2nd and 3rd games, too, we shall see.

I cannot see them winning 9 games, getting into the playoffs.

*OL by far, bar none

Offensive line is the biggest issue there.

Dalton’s best days are behind him, but he is still a better QB than Trubisky. Maybe the logic was “playoff team with Trubisky, we’ll take a step forward with a slight upgrade at QB”

idk it’s all moot until they beef up their offensive line. A new coach wouldn’t hurt either

Losing RB Montgomery is problematic for the Bears, and Hicks, if he does not play Sunday, an auto fade of the Bears, LV -4.5, big.

Fields has a long way to go...
