Gameface....when you use the term "heavy lifting"......are you referring to the United States longstanding, wasteful, useless policy of nation building......

...or going after terrorists and accomplishing something?

If all this "heavy lifting" includes spreading the military thin while rebuilding some rundown country......then we are in for a very expensive fulltime job and plenty of overtime doing a thankless job for ingrateful beneficiaries....

"Heavy lifting" would appear to be breaking the financial back of America.

If you think that paying taxes and otherwise financially supporting the armed forces doesn't give you the right to be patriotic, then make sure you also think that funding Al Qaeda is not a crime. You can't have it both ways.

America does not have the luxury of sitting back and waiting for the next 9-11, a nuke 9-11 would cost 100x's what we are spending now.

The heavy lifting we did freeing SK, Germany, Kuwait, France and others seems to be worth the cost. I agree with you that some are very ungrateful.

I really don't believe America had much of a choice other than to defeat Nazism, Fascism and Tojo's Japan. The heavy had to be done.

Marco some of the heavy lifting has to be done, hoping the problem goes away doesn't always work, ie 8 long years of Clintoon.
