“Our understanding is that Trump’s handlers prefer the muted microphone because they don’t think their candidate can act presidential for 90 minutes on his own," Fallon said. "We suspect Trump’s team has not even told their boss about this dispute because it would be too embarrassing to admit they don’t think he can handle himself against Vice President Harris without the benefit of a mute button."

…according to rules that ABC News, the host network, shared this week with both campaigns.

A copy of the rules was provided to the Associated Press on Thursday by a senior Trump campaign official on condition of anonymity ahead of the network's announcement. The Harris campaign on Thursday insisted it was still discussing the muting of mics with ABC.

Lol sure . Maybe she can use this as an excuse to back out .

A source at McDonald’s corporate tells me they have no record of a Kamala Harris ever working for them around the time and place she claims. ‘I Did Fries’: Kamala Claims She Worked at McDonald's, but She Never Mentioned It Until She Ran for President.

moving on to thoughts for 28...good good GOP

The damage Trump is doing to himself is playing out in private conversations like this: "We have a really good shot at taking the Senate. Manchin leaving gets us to 50. Tester is toast. That's 51. Between that and the Supreme Court, we can hold off Harris for two years and get more reinforcements then fight in 2028 for the White House. If Trump gets in, we set back the pro-life cause and free markets by a generation at least." You can say that is crazy talk. But that crazy talk is happening more and more. Trump, with Vance as his pick, hurt himself with the economic wing of the GOP. His Florida and IVF remarks hurt him with the pro-life wing. He was already hurt with the natsec wing. He's cutting off all three legs of the stool at the same time hoping "But Harris" saves him. He's got real damage control to do. No amount of bullying "but you're helping Harris" is going to fix this. Only Trump pivoting can.

When you’ve lost Frank Luntz

Kamala Harris was asked a specific question about what she would do on Day 1 if elected as POTUS. Her answer was so vague that it was essentially worthless. Not a good start.

Didn’t get any better after that .

Maybe she’ll reject the original ABC rules of muted mics and no notes and use it as an excuse to skip the debate .

Yeah , Jennings is probably on borrowed time over at DNCNN.

:ROFLMAO:

CNN commentator Scott Jennings said that "nobody believes" the claim from Vice President Kamala Harris that President Biden's health has been good throughout his administration.

I also thought it was interesting that she didn’t take any responsibility at the end for telling the American people that Joe Biden was fine and he was strong when we all know that’s not true, that's why he's out of the race," Jennings said

Is ChickenMala looking for a way out ?

ABC News intends to mute the microphones of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris while their opponent speaks during an upcoming presidential debate, according to a copy of the formal rules obtained by CNN, but the Harris campaign is continuing to push back on the final sticking point.

“Candidate microphones will be live only for the candidate whose turn it is to speak, and muted when time belongs to another candidate,” ABC stated in the debate rules sent to the campaigns on Tuesday.

Gold Star families who lost loved ones in the botched Afghanistan withdrawal blasted Vice President Kamala Harris over her attack on former President Trump for paying his respects at Arlington National Cemetery last week.

Harris accused Trump of playing politics with the visit, but in a series of short videos, eight families said they had invited Trump, and bitterly blasted the Biden-Harris administration over the disastrous pullout that left 13 U.S. service members dead three years ago.

The messages, each featuring different parents of service members killed by ISIS-K terrorists amid the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan on Aug. 26, 2021, were posted on former President Trump's Instagram account. .

The videos were released in the wake of a statement published by Harris on Saturday, where the vice president criticized Trump for taking photographs at a wreath-laying ceremony event on Monday. The Army said this week that an Arlington National Cemetery official was "abruptly pushed aside" while interacting with Trump's staff.

:lmao:

Columbia professor John McWhorter says that Kamala Harris doesn't speak in word salads; it's just her way of being “articulate.”

He calls this “a really effective way of speaking smoothly.”

You have to listen to her in the right way. She actually has learned a really effective way of speaking smoothly. She does these triplets, and she'll say, ‘the ambitions, the hopes, and the aspirations of the American people.’

“Those three things are really all the same. The reason she did it is not because she's stuttering. It's because that is her way of not saying 'um.' She's avoiding saying 'um' or hesitating. She wanted to say aspirations, and then she'll give the synonyms as she waits. That's a form of being articulate.”

oh no...

"The only thing preventing us from having a great night in November is the massive financial disparity our party currently faces,” Jason Thielman, the executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, told Politico.

Vice President and the Democratic candidate for the US presidency, Kamala Harris avoided engaging with reporters on Monday as she boarded Air Force Two, a move that drew significant attention and criticism.

As reported by various news outlets, Harris was seen holding her cellphone and wearing headphones in order to sidestep questions from the press. However, the Vice President gave a brief, somewhat awkward salute before shaking hands with a service member and ascending the steps of her jet, all while keeping a hand pressed to her ear, as if deeply engaged in a conversation.
