Democrats, reeling from election losses, cast blame on each other

Two weeks removed from a set of losses that sent Democratic leaders into a tailspin, the years-long ideological battle between the progressive left and centrists has once again come to a head as both sides fight to shift blame and take the reins of the future direction of the party.

With the party grappling with how to prepare for midterm elections in two years, uncertainty about who will take over the Democratic National Committee, and expected internal debates over how to handle complete Republican control in the White House and on Capitol Hill, Democrats don’t have much time to find consensus on their path forward.

“The question is: Do you want to be the least progressive outside the house looking in the window? Or do you want to be the most progressive person at the table with the deal being cut?” said Joe Caiazzo, a Democratic strategist and former campaign staffer for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), who said progressives need to assimilate to where they stand now in a Republican-dominated Washington
meh....I'm good but thanks for the concern

US shuts Kyiv embassy due to 'potential significant air attack'

Russia has been signalling to the United States and its allies for weeks that if they give permission to Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with Western-supplied missiles then Moscow will consider it a major escalation.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the embassy will be closed, and embassy employees are being instructed to shelter in place," the U.S. Department of State Consular Affairs said in a statement on the embassy's website

Some progressive activists have discovered the reason Kamala Harris lost: 'The answer is the right-wing media.' They believe conservative media is so powerful that little ole NYT/WP/CNN/MSNBC/ABC/CBS/NBC/Hollywood/academia just can't compete.

“Today, the right-wing media — Fox News (and the entire News Corp.), Newsmax, One America News Network, the Sinclair network of radio and TV stations and newspapers, iHeart Media (formerly Clear Channel), the Bott Radio Network (Christian radio), Elon Musk’s X, the huge podcasts like Joe Rogan’s, and much more — sets the news agenda in this country,” Tomasky wrote.

Most likely not the group to ask...but, how. would you feel having US Army troops in your city hunting immigrants?

Creepy shit IMO, all this is going to backfire on multiple levels.

It's unconstitutional just for beginners... not that MAGA gives a fuck about the constitution

:ROFLMAO:

Vice President Kamala Harris has emerged as the clear frontrunner in the first 2028 Democratic primary poll, showcasing a commanding lead over a crowded field of potential challengers.

The poll, released earlier today, reveals Harris commanding 41% of Democratic support, far outpacing her closest competitors. California Gov. Gavin Newsom trails with a mere 8%, while Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro garners 7%, tied closely with Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, each securing 6%.

If she opens like 20-25% on prediction markets because of name recognition/keeping high profile next 2.5 years then that’s an immediate short and free money. I don’t think that happens, I think she fades away and is just an answer to a trivia question in 20 years but it is possible I guess? Man she got killed so I doubt it but we’ll see

why am I thinking about dem primary odds for 2028 cycle, gambling has ruined my mind

Newsmen is polarizing ....even for Dems.

I have no idea who's going to emerge as the chosen one.
JB Pritzker, Jay Inslee and Jared Polis, who you mentioned are ones who come to mind.
Josh Shapiro, being jewish and rising Antisemitism in the US..doubt him.
Gretchen Whitmer..no chance the Dems run another women..at least I hope not.. given the track record

It’s time New York City ditches the sanctuary policies that protect criminal migrants and endanger New Yorkers, a Queens Democrat urged this week — after some inspiration from President-elect Trump’s new border czar.

“I write with grave concern about the continued impact of New York’s sanctuary state and city policies, which not only violate [federal law] but also put New Yorkers in harm’s way,” said moderate Councilman Robert Holden in a letter Wednesday to Mayor Adams, Gov. Hochul and top city and state legislative leaders.

Dr. Janette Nesheiwat,

"Dear President Trump, many of us…MANY of us are very disheartened and upset about this pick -this doctor has been a major advocate for pushing Covid vaccines upon people which are being proven cause much harm," one Trump-supporting Truth Social user wrote in response to Trump's announcement. "She also was a big advocate of masking and other terrible Covid policies please don’t let this happen! Sincerely -your base."

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., took aim at Secretary of State Antony Blinken after it was reported that the State Department held therapy sessions for employees who were upset by President-elect Trump’s election victory.

"I am concerned that the Department is catering to federal employees who are personally devastated by the normal functioning of American democracy through the provision of government-funded mental health counseling because Kamala Harris was not elected President of the United States," Issa said in a letter to Blinken last week.

The letter comes after a Free Beacon report earlier this month that detailed two alleged therapy sessions that were held at the State Department after Trump’s victory, with sources telling the outlet that one such instance amounted to an information "cry session."
