Hey man, just trying to put my 2 cents worth in..I would like to help if I can..Try and reduce the number of bets you make per day/week..I have been doing this since 1989..Still don't make my living from it, but I do pretty well...Look at 1 to 2 wagers per day during the week and on weekends when their is a ton of games maybe up to 3 or 4 wagers..If your tryin to make money and are not lookin for action only..Follow one or two handicappers in the forum that are consistant in winning and stop playin your own plays..Or at least for me cause I can't pick my nose LOL! If you want to go outside the forum for handicappers their are several good cappers out there and I will share some of them with you if you like (I'm not touting for anyone just tryin to help you ger started)and I'm not talkin about the "scandicappers" like FEIST, ROOT, ETC..Well anyway good luck with whatever you decide to do and if I can help e-mail me at Searc711@aol.com...

Hey Danny May,
You actually lost that teaser with the Giants +2.5. Not sure if you noticed they lost by 3 last night. Better luck next time with the locks. Clean up your act, GUY. Hopefully this poor guy had the brains not to follow this horrible advice.

Sun:

I went through a similar experience as you but with a smaller bankroll (although that doesn't make it any less wise). I tracked a tout service for the recommended 100 picks. This guy was hot showing a +14.00 units over 2 weeks! I couldn't lose. So I signed up with him and promptly lost my bankroll within 2 weeks.

Moral of the story, money management is key here. I was betting 10% of my bankroll on each bet. When people suggest 1%-2%-3% per bet that is a wise decision. I've seen some of the best cappers have losing streaks go 10 picks in a row. Eventually it will happen.

Since my bad experience with the tout, I have tried to develop my own skill as a capper and have done reasonably well. I suggest you get a feel for the game by lowering your bets as suggested and most of all, have fun with it. Even when it seems there is a conspiracy against you because you pick 10 losers in a row, you will have similar winning streaks over time.

Good luck.

naw, Joey, he hasn't lost yet - it was a 13 point teaser, so he was getting 13-7.5 = +5.5 points - he just didn't do the math right. I didn't notice either.

1st rule - do not play teasers, ever
2nd rule - if you're stupid enough to play teasers, never under any circumstances include a college game in the teaser.

good luck

I agree Blue Edwards. College Games are harder because you just never know with those young kids.

I like Bowling Green though because they are very good and OSU cant score. I dont see OSU winning this by 29.

This teaser WILL win Blue.

Blue - The good news is - YOU ARE NOT TOO LATE. My advice to you would be to sell your house, cars, boat and clean out your bank account. Come to think of it - you should also visit your local loan shark and borrow all he will let you have for a week. Then you should make a 13 point monster teaser with my 3 remaining plays and 1 that you like a lot. You will have to create your own 4th play - dannymay cant do it all man.

Just one thing - make sure the loan shark isnt charging you more than 50%. This teaser is -120 so you are only making 83.33% on your money.

I have been getting P.M.'s from thesunisthebest. Can you believe he followed this and jumped all over it ? Its good to know I have lead the kid in the right direction.

I told him not to let all you naysayers get to him, because in the end we will be dancing in the street when this teaser hits.

P.S. Damn I knew last night was going to be brutal when I went over to MW and saw that Jim had Dallas winning the game outright. I knew at that moment my only hope was for The Giants to lose by less than 5.

First of all, I, TheSunIsTheBeast, have not sent you, DannyMay, a single PM.

Either someone is impersonating me using the name "TheSunIsTheBest" or else you are bullshitting.

Regardless, I did take your play -- for $5.

I think it's a good teaser and will probably win. Thanks for sharing. If I had more money to wager, I'd most likely have taken it for much more.

And, DannyMay, if you're bullsh1tting about me sending you PMs, quit it!

If someone is impersonating me under a similar nick, quit that too!

"sorry to hear it sun

My advice would be to read up on your money management. I would recommend 1-2% bankroll per play. With a $4000 bankroll that means anywhere from $40-$80 per game. You could lose 50 bets in a row and still not go broke.

Don't chase and increase your wager size to make up. If you suck at capping, then you will never win and chasing will just bankrupt you faster. If you're good at capping, it still can hurt you cause no bet is a sure thing. Play all your bets the same size.

And read around the picks here in the forums. Don't follow anyone blindly, but there are a lot of good write ups here. You can see who you agree with and who you don't. Plenty of info and opinions floating around.

And you should always be looking for a reason to NOT make a bet. Same as in poker, you should always be looking for a reason to fold. IF you can't find one then you're probably alright to go ahead with it.

And some other quick tips: take advantage of bonuses, use reduced juice books where possible, and always shop for the best line. These three things will do wonders to your bottom line.

Good luck in the future man..."

That is the best advice you are going to get.

Some other thoughts; don't play teasers,ML favorites in any sport over -150.Food for thought "There is not one sucessful or unsucessful gambler that over 1000 plays has not lost at least 10 bets in a row." No gambler knows when that cold streak is going to hit, hence the reason you should play such a small % per play. "If your good, or want to become good you have to stay in the game and the only way to do that is to guard you bankroll."

GL, with what ever you do but don't bet what you can't afford to lose.

By the way, no one here that has gambled a long time is laughing at you because most of us have learned like you. "THE HARD WAY"

As promised, I said I would be the first to congratulate you, Danny, on the teaser - so congratulations, it won - good going.

As I also said, and I know what you've said afterwards, that under no circumstance should anyone EVER follow advice like Danny posted, even if he did post it 'tongue-in-cheek'. Maybe Danny's right, that if you followed the advice you're gonna go broke sometime anyway, but I prefer to think maybe there are some out there who, when warned hard and often enough, will learn never to bet ANY kind of pick from ANYONE that requires betting a huge amount of your bankroll. If you do follow this kind of gut hunch, then you'll inevitably be doing this:

And for anyone who makes a steady habit of plunging on bets like this - repent, sinner!!!

Sermon over - enjoy your winnings, Danny

Well having two bedroom duplex and two car garages is not very helpfull when it comes to betting

You need to spend time, and money before you can be sucessfull, and there is no guarantee for the success,in fact, betting is one of the hardest fields and very few people will win.

Good point, VG - I'd also like to point out that the main reason so many professionals with advanced education lose their asses off at gambling is BECAUSE they are so educated. They have a lot of knowledge, strong egos and a sense they can attack gambling as they have all other past obstacles and succeed - the problem is, that kind of ego does not like to lose, and will end up chasing to prevent being wrong. Not saying that's the case here, but it's something you have to watch out for.

Ok I got lucky on 2 games. The Giants and Buffalo getting the INT return otherwise 17-0. The Dolphins dominated that game all the way. Very surprising.
