Guatemala vs Nicaragua
- this will be the key game for both teams that must finish 2nd behind host Costa Rica for the Gold Cup this summer. I still rate Guatemala as a level above Nicaragua although the gap is closing a bit. The difference in FIFA rankings (87 vs 145) and ELO ratings (77 vs 174) point this out as does the h2h history where Guatemala have only dropped one official match.

Nicaragua just once left home to win in last 16 games (1-3-12) and were knocked out of WC qualifying in 2nd round. Guatemala made it into the 3rd round before getting KO'd so this match is vital for making the Gold Cup otherwise they'll have no real aim for 2013. Both teams will finish ahead of Belize and behind Costa Rica so this match will decide that Gold Cup spot.

I'm going to start a chase today for Pescara to lead at HT. They're an incredible 0-10-10 in first half this year scoring just 4 goals which doesn't make a ton of sense since no other team in Italy have led HT less than 2x this year. In the next 5 rounds they play the following:

14 bologna
19 palermo
17 cagliari

So they have 5 straight matches with teams similar to them and 3 of those at home, starting today. Pescara in best form of year, 3-0-2 L5, which is better than all 5 upcoming opponents. We'll start it small

Its never boring watching Fernando find ways NOT to score...kinda humorous actually. I understand that with so many competitions Rafa has to rotate his squad, but why wouldn't you put in Ba for the big matches....like today! I agree that goals will be hard to come by.

Pescara failed for a 21st straight league match to lead at HT so will try again next Sunday at Sampdoria. Ironically the last time they led at HT in the league (when they were in serie b) was away to Sampdoria

been watching genoa on computer and they are dominating match but losing 1-0. shots are 11-3, corners 4-1 and home team at least 4 great chances while Catania have just 1 SOG (and it went into the net). if you can take HT matches consider genoa pk .... or over goals. genoa no choice but to attack as next two games are vs Juve and Lazio (two top teams in italy)

two really dysfunctional teams. roma been lights out at home...inter lately horrible on road. roma awesome 1h home record, 7-1-1, so i'd probably try that -1/4 1H line if i were betting.
