If you are a recruit in Texas you can go play for Baylor (a more recent up-and-coming team with a brand new stadium where you can make your own tradition and legacy), or you can go play for Texas A&M since they are in the SEC while staying at Home in Texas, or you can go play for Oklahoma (a consistent, traditional powerhouse team that is always there each year in national discussions)........

Exactly and Okla St gets a few also.

From Week 2 stats:

Citadel ran 56 times for 250 yds against Florida St

MID Tenn St outgained Minnesota 445 to 351

Michigan outgained Notre Dame 289 to 280 but had 4 TO's

Howard outgained Rutgers 437 to 397

Stanford outgained USC 413 to 291

Memphis ran up 469 total yds against UCLA

E. Wash outgained Wash 573 to 536 and had 2 TO's

Marhsall totaled 724 yds against Rhode Island

E. Carolina outgained S. Carolina 453 to 441

Maryland had 6 To's against USF

Most misleading score for me was Richmond vs Virginia. Richmond outgained Virginia 432 to 330 but had 7 TO's losing 45 to 13.

This shocked me: Oregon outgained Mich St 491 to 466 and Mich St had 2 TO's

If someone held a gun to my head (hopefully an unloaded BB gun) at this time there are some indications these teams could make the final top 25 at season's end. Here they are in no significant order:

Florida St, Alabama, Oregon, Auburn, Baylor, Stanford, LSU, USC, N. Dame, Ole Miss, Ariz St, Texas A&M, Georgia, N. Illinois, Penn St, Florida, Louisville, Pitt, Marshall, Miss St, Arizona, BYU, Virginia Tech, Clemson and BYU.

The following teams were not on the preseason top 25 which could make them play on teams this season:

N. Illinois, Penn St, Florida, Louisville, Pitt, Marshall, Miss St, Arizona, BYU, Vir Tech and BYU. More than like however 3 of these teams will not make it to the final top 25.

Substitute Michigan St for Arizona and take Arizona out of the follow teams. My bad.

I am basing all of this on my spreadsheet and this is a little premature. I will lock in after week 4. There is a remote possibility that no team will make it through the season without a loss. Marshall may have the best shot. Oregon might if Mariota stays healthy. N. Ill has to get by Arkansas. That would be something, our first playoff and no team in the top 5 conferences go undefeated. Controversy in the making. Can you imagine Marshall and N. Illinois go undefeated and 5 or more from the Big five with 1 loss apiece. Drama supreme. LOL

that's pretty crazy....think they threw for like 53 yards in first game vs Akron

I love to sift thru the weekly stats. Stuff like that is pretty crazy. RT what do you think about Penn St at this point. I also see they are doing well in recruiting and that came before this week's lifting of the bowl ban. I love their line play on both sides and if they can increase their scoring I think they are an obstacle to reckon with in the Big 10.

Hackenberg tries to do too much sometimes. He'll run around back there like he's mike vick and throw off his back foot. Too many int's for the moment. Actually like Rutgers this weekend.

Hackenburg gets the yardage but their scoring does not reflect it. As far as Rutgers goes Penn St's DL is the best they have faced so far. Not one of my best picks but I kind of like Penn St. They now have a goal and a couple of games under their belt with the new coaches etc.

By the way, as a group these teams are now 17-3-1 ATS.
