Arizona Diamondbacks vs Los Angeles Dodgers

6* Free Pick Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5

The Los Angeles Dodgers have all but wrapped up the NL West already but are still battling it out with the Mets for home-field advantage in a potential division series matchup. They managed just three hits in an 8-0 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks last night and have batted a pathetic .176 with nine runs scored during a four-game losing streak, but they're in a good position to wake their slumbering bats tonight when facing Chase Anderson on the mound. Anderson is 1-1 with a 3.95 ERA in five career starts against the Dodgers and has not pitched in the big leagues since he gave up five runs on five hits with two homers over just two innings of a 6-2 loss against the Giants on Sept 8. The Dodgers meanwhile can turn to Zack Greinke who is looking to win his sixth straight start. He's been outstanding all season long, particularly home at Dodger Stadium where he's 9-1 behind a 1.48 ERA over 16 starts. He's yielded just eight hits over 15 scoreless innings against Arizona on the season and has Paul Goldschmidt limited to four hits over 23 at bats in previous matchups.

Note that:
- Arizona is 1-9 in Anderson's last 10 road starts vs. a team with a winning record.
- Los Angeles is 37-10 in Greinke's last 47 home starts.

San Francisco Giants vs. San Diego Padres

Bonus Play Over

I'm recommending a play on the Over between the Giants & Padres on Wednesday. Jake Peavy has been an easy target in his last three road games, allowing 11 earned runs, 19 base runners, and four home runs in 17 1/3 IP. His overall road ERA is hefty also, sitting at 4.80 for the season. The Friars will counter with Andrew Cashner, who has not performed up to expectations this summer. Cashner has been roughed-up in his last five starts, saddled with a 5.41 ERA & 1.84 WHIP. He's allowed a 1.33 WHIP and .283 BAA at home on the season and we should note when he pitches on six days rest like he is tonight, the Pads are 5-0 to the Over. San Diego has been an Over machine as it is. Their games are on a 36-14-2 Over run in the Friars' last 52 games. Last night's contest stayed under by a run. We expect a return to the "norm" tonight. I'm recommending a play on the Over between the Giants & Padres on Wednesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
