(947) SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS VS (948) PITTSBURGH PIRATES

Take: over

Reason: Your Bonus Play for Tuesday, September 30, 2014 is in the NL Wildcard playoff game between the San Francisco Giants and Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates get to host this game for the second straight season as San Francisco comes to town for this one game playoff. The Giants will turn to Ace Lefty Madison Bumgarner (18-10) with a stellar resume and the team 6-1 his last seven starts. He is 11-4 on the road this season with a 2.22 ERA and the Giants are 15-5 in his last 20 road starts. Pittsburgh had the remarkable regular season, a young team that stepped up, but do they have the nerves for October baseball? The Pirates will pin their playoffs on 31-year old Edinson Volquez who has always been erratic, and the team is 2-3 his last five starts. In his last three starts he's walked 9 in 21 innings. The last four years against these Giants he is winless with a 4.95 ERA in 43+ innings. And the Pirates are 3-8 in their last 11 games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15. The Giants have been a good over team when installed as the dog, evidenced by their 9-2-1 O/U record their last 12 in that role. The Giants are also 9-4 O/U in their last 13 playoff games. Very low total here and it won't take much to get us over. I'm sticking with the OVER as the Giant bats should come alive against Volquez.

Complimentary Horse Pick for October 1st, 2014

BELMONT PARK #8 at 04:25 PM Eastern

Top Pick: #2 (THREE ALARM FIRE) (6-5) - Lightly-raced, promising, and still improving, gelding was an impressive maiden winner at Saratoga going 7-furlongs on Aug. 23. He was off awkwardly but rallied strongly to win going away. The effort was enhanced when the second-place finisher "Liam's Map" won here easily last week. Working nicely for this and trainer Tom Albertrani has him well spotted.

2nd Pick: #1 (Encryption) (3-1) - He just missed here going a mile in an entry-level allowance on Sept. 11. It was his first since July 27th and this lightly raced son of "Exchange Rate" has been competitive 6-1-2-2 in all but one start (this year's "Haskell Invitational G1). Speed/stalker should be involved every step and is a win candidate.

3rd Pick: #5 (The Brothers Rap) (8-1) - Longshot moves up in class and in with open company after a very sharp win at Saratoga going 1 1/18th miles on Aug. 28. By far a career best and this gelding turned it all around when trainer Charlie Baker added blinkers three starts back.

I assume that it is ok to say this in a chatter section-anywayst imo anyone who claims that they have a monster play tonight is not being honest-anything can happen in a one game playoff as we found out all night. It goes without saying that anyone who buys into this nonsense imo is pretty gullible and naive and should consider what i said above and the motive of any service which claims it has a huge play.
