Very much so. Thousands of innocent people will die before this is over.

If the Admin stays this course, I sadly predict:
1500-2000 American soldiers die
100-200 American MIA's and POW's
3000-5000 Iraqi civilians die
20,000+ Iraqi soldiers die
$200 billion U.S. cost
6-9 month time frame
Continued in-fighting in Iraq with no stable govt
Continued threat of terrorism

...but hey...oil prices may stabilize and certain American businesses will be enriched.

Great plan.

How many time do I have to tell you - Donald "I didn't fight" Dumsfeld clearly said on "Face the Nation" that "we are NOT bombing Baghdad".

And didn't Cheney last week say the war would last "weeks, not months"? We'll see.

Amazing how poeples hatred of America have them believing death toll numbers from the Iraq Minister of Information.

Im not saying that this didn't happen.....but is it not poeeible that this bomb could have come from their own triple A fire?...or their own missles?..... of course not, why would a honest, moral, regime of the Iraq people ever distribute misinformation?

Again, this very well could have come from one of our errant bombs, but why so quick to believe the Iraq account of this tragedy ?

My guess is that you also do NOT believe the account of Iraq people being gunned down by their own people, because they chose to leave Basra, instead of fight for Saddam.

Dirk, like the way Danny May uses 'WE'. 55 people died...whine...thousands more will die..whine....

Fact is: thousands have died under saddams regime. innocent, thousands have died under saddams regime. women, children, and men have been tortured under saddams regime. But 'we' are the bad guys. And you know what, if we left Iraq again without removing saddam to satisfy people like Danny, thousands will continue to die under saddams regime.

Guys Come on. Saddam is the person to blame. He is using human shields, he places his weapons in neighborhoods just so that he can try to gain sympathy from the world.

Also, the US at the moment has dropped over 5000 bombs. If one civilian would have died from every bomb that would be a supreme tragedy, but 50 or 60 civilians being unfortunetly killed from 5000 bombs is actually a very low figure. Though very unfortunete and sad, a very low and promising figure.

Now, I am curiouse, but why dont any of you show your anger or hatred when Saddam Hussein kills his own people with chemical weapons or nail the tongue of one of his officers when they give him bad news?

If you want to blame the US when tragedies occur then that it is fine, but also focus some of it if not most of it on Saddam Hussein's criminal and genocidal acts.

Remember an equation always has to be balanced, there are always two sides to every story.

Well said Alex. Let's not forget
the execution of our POW'S and the
good possibility of chemical weapons
that will be used against our soldiers.
I guess the anti war posters will say
this is the only way the poor innocent
Iraqis can even the playing field against
the super powers.

Are you referring to the chemical weapons that Saddam does not supposedly have? The weapons that France, Russie, and Germany claim that Saddam doesnt have?

What is disgusting is that I was watching the O'Reilly Factor and they are now saying that Chirac (Napolean) wants to now have a piece of the pie regarding the rebuilding of Iraq.

Dirk,

This report is being verified by other beyong Iraq.

Gargoyle,

There will always be evil people in the world. Is it now the U.S. job to go kill them all? Is it our job to go remove elected leaders because we deem them evil ? It is funny how your side wants to keep talking about Saddam murdering his own people. Where was your outcry when it was actually happening ? Oh thats right - our gov't SUPPORTED Saddam when he was murdering Kurds - THEREFORE IT WAS OK.

Where is your outcry against Turkey who has killed far more Kurds than Saddam ever did ? Oh thats right our Gov't SUPPORTS Turkey - So their murder is OK.

There it is. The dumbest comment that you could possibly make .

Have you ever disagreed with our gov't ?????

If YES - DID YOU MOVE ?

If NO - You Need to open your eyes.

It is funny how every time they cant make a reasonable argument to back up their side it is always " why don't you move?"
